Hot Toys posted images of a new action figure of Steve Rogers in Avengers: Doomsday a few weeks ago. The promotional campaign for the movie is in full swing, as the movie is just two months away from its theatrical release. This new figure features a bearded Rogers holding a cracked Mjölnir in different poses. But some outlets like comicbook.com noticed something: a ring.

This new ring carries a symbol of a star that's split, with a lightning bolt in the middle. The comicbook.com report draws a parallel between the former Captain America's new ring and the same piece of jewelry that DC's iconic speedster, The Flash, wears.

New Avengers: Doomsday toy - Steve Rogers's ring explained:

There is an exclusive life-sized metal ring with Steve Rogers’ rumored logo in the center. The logo is a star, which is in two colors, one side red and the other blue. Splitting these two colors right in the middle is a lightning bolt, which the report compares to the logo of The Flash. Apart from that, we don't know anything about the ring.

In the case of The Flash, Barry Allen uses his ring to hide the suit inside it. If the Russo Brothers were indeed influenced by the DC speedster, Steve Rogers could hide a new suit inside the ring. However, we will learn more about the ring and Steve Rogers' new suit when Avengers: Doomsday releases in two months.

We see Steve's old Captain America costume for a brief moment in the Steve Rogers teaser, but apart from that, we don't know if he will wear it or not. Some think that Steve might wear a completely new suit in Doomsday, and the logo on Steve might be indicating just that. It would also make sense because Sam Wilson is carrying the mantle of Captain America currently.

What is Steve Rogers' role in Doomsday?

We don't know what Steve Rogers' role in the movie is, as Marvel has kept a lid on it. But several Avengers: Doomsday leaks have suggested that Rogers caused an incursion, which affected Victor von Doom. Therefore, the Latverian ruler is especially incensed at Rogers in the upcoming Avengers movie. If the leaks are to be believed, Loki offers to shift the Rogers family to a different Earth.

Avengers Endgame: Encore even suggests that the leak could be true, as we see Loki interrupt Peggy Carter and Steve Rogers' dance. Loki offers the couple help, but we don't know what the God of Stories' offer is. Avengers: Doomsday could reveal what Loki offered to the couple. If Loki does shift the couple to a different Earth, it may cause an incursion, which would incur Doom's wrath.

This one incursion could lead to a chain of other incursions, leading to an eventual collapse of the Marvel multiverse. The movie could end with Doom winning, much like Thanos won Avengers: Infinity War. But instead of erasing half of existence, Doom could rewrite reality and form Battleworld, a new reality that was created using chunks of three different realities.

Moreover, people inhabiting the Battleworld would not remember their lives before Doom took over, setting the stage for Avengers: Secret Wars, which supposedly closes the book on Marvel's Multiverse Saga, which gives the studio the opportunity to recast characters like Steve Rogers. Thus, Doomsday is the beginning of the end of Marvel's multiverse.

"'Avengers: Doomsday' follows beloved heroes from three distinct universes as they’re set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered."
