The final trailer for Insidious: Out of the Further has been released, and it gives us a glimpse at what Gemma is going to be up against. The upcoming film will follow Gemma, a single mother who is raising her young daughter. However, she will soon realize she can not only enter The Further, but also bring demons from there.

As the Insidious: Out of the Further trailer teases, the film is going to be a Freddy Krueger-style horror with demons being able to enter the land of the living.

The Insidious: Out of the Further trailer reveals a kind of horror even Elsie Rainer hadn't thought was possible

Gemma, a dentist and a mother, just wants to do her job and raise her young daughter in peace. However, it becomes extremely difficult for her to do so when Gemma realizes that she can travel into The Further. She keeps getting haunted by demons in her dreams and then sees them in real life.

Be it her clinic or her neighborhood, Gemma sees strange people who don't appear as people at all. As the Insidious: Out of the Further trailer reveals, Elsie Rainer's spirit tells Gemma that while she never thought it was possible, Gemma can not only go into The Further without much effort but can also bring demons from the realm into the living world.

Elsie also warns Gemma that if she brings a demon into the living world, she will be bringing it permanently. While that is a terrifying power to have, Elsie assures Gemma that she isn't alone and would have her help.

Insidious: Out of the Further is also going to introduce a Freddy Krueger-style villain, Cyprus. He is a demon who will attack Gemma in her dreams and, much like Freddy Krueger, will come into the land of the living. Other demons like the Lipstick-Face Demon, KeyFace, and the Bride in Black, among others, will be haunting her as well.

It is never a good idea to let a spirit leave The Further and come the living world because, as Elsie tells Gemma in the trailer,

"When the dead rise, it'll be the end of the living."

Gemma will thus have to figure out a way to not only fight the demons in her dreams but also prevent them from coming to the land of the living permanently. While she does have Elsie Rainer's guidance, Gemma is new to all this and has only a chance to stop the demons.

Insidious: Out of the Further stars Amelia Eve as Gemma, Lin Shaye as Elsie Rainer, and Sam Spruell as Cyprus. Brandon Perea, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Island Austin, and Laura Gordon star in undisclosed roles. The film is directed by Jacob Chase, based on the screenplay he wrote. Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell are the producers behind the film. The production companies behind the film are Screen Gems, Stage 6 Films, Blumhouse Productions, and Atomic Monster. Sony Pictures Releasing is the distributor.

Insidious: Out of the Further will release in theaters on August 21, 2026.
