New Woody Allen film with WestEnd films unveils cast ahead of Madrid filming

Woody Allen's upcoming film is gearing up for the next phase. Woody Allen serves as the writer and director of the upcoming feature. WestEnd Films will handle the global sales. The film will be primarily shot in the English language. The project remains untitled as of now. The plot and release date are also under wraps. However, the cast for Woody Allen's upcoming project has been revealed.

According to Deadline, The Equalizer star Marton Csokas is set to be a part of Allen's upcoming film. Joining Csokas is Jemima Kirke, known for her roles in Sex Education and The Little Hours.

Peter Vives, Alexi Wasser, and Jakob Oftebro are also joining the cast. Oftebro is known for his roles in Agent Hamilton, where he plays Carl Hamilton, and 1864, where he plays Laust Jensen. You might recognise Alexi Wasser from her projects such as A Ghost Story and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Peter Vives is known for his roles in The Time in Between, Velvet, and You Cannot Hide. The characters' details have not been revealed yet.

Wanda Visión, a Madrid-based banner, and Gravier Productions, along with 3SIX9 Studios, are producing the film. Jose Luis Alcaine, Sonia Grande, and Alain Bainée are the creative team. WestEnd Films will handle the global sales and distribution. Previously, WestEnd has partnered with Allen's Gravier Productions for Coup de Chance, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival. According to Deadline, the film was sold in over 30 countries. Thus, WestEnd Films is set to introduce Allen's upcoming film to international distributors at the upcoming American Film Market.

Filming for Woody Allen's upcoming film will begin on October 5, 2026. Principal photography will take place in Madrid and the surrounding regions. After Vicky Cristina Barcelona and Rifkin's Festival, this will be the third time that Allen has chosen Spain as the principal filming location for his project. Speaking about the movie's location, Allen said (via Deadline),

“I will be very happy to return to Spain. This will be my third time filming there and my first opportunity to make a film in Madrid, a city I have always loved.”

Speaking about the film, Maya Amsellem, the Managing Director of WestEnd Films, said that they are delighted to continue the collaboration with Woody Allen and team. She said (via Deadline),

"Following the strong international response to Coup de Chance, we’re thrilled to bring his new film to market. It brings together an exciting international ensemble cast in Madrid, and we look forward to introducing it to buyers at AFM.”

Woody Allen is a renowned filmmaker, actor, writer, and comedian. Allen holds the record for most wins and nominations for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. Throughout his seven-decade-long career, he has received multiple accolades, including BAFTA Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and a Grammy as well. He is known for his projects like Annie Hall, Manhattan, and Deconstructing Harry. Written and directed by Allen, Coup de Chance premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2023, and it received a five-minute standing ovation from the audience.
