British singer Rachel Keen, or RAYE, has issued an apology to her fans on social media after Ticketmaster turned away 65 ticket holders from her February 15 show at the Actor Arena in Paris. On February 17, Keen, in a statement, said,"I am completely devastated for the 65 ticket holders who were turned down from entering our Paris show on Sunday night. This is completely unacceptable and wrong."RAYE mentioned she was told there was a system error at Ticketmaster, which led to the tickets not being "fully validated when they were purchased." The singer stated the situation "was outside of anything I could control, and I feel saddened and let down." The singer added that everyone affected was refunded by Ticketmaster and given a voucher from the entertainment company. After the singer's fans saw her apology, they took to X to comment on her statement. Fans appreciated the singer taking accountability.A user (@not_airspeed) appreciated the singer for not sweeping the incident under the rug,"That's pretty nice and far above what many artists would do, some would sweep it under the rug and hide it through fear of negative press. You are a gem.""You have to refund their travel as well surely??" - a user questions RAYE's apologyWhile many users appreciated RAYE's apology, a user (@LeahRay) questioned if the singer should also be refunding the affected concertgoers' travel expenses,"You have to refund their travel as well surely??"Another user (@gleng1) mentioned that RAYE's apology is far more than what singers usually do in such situations,"THAT'S the way it should be done. I'm a former corporate PR counsel. The way it's USUALLY handled is, "Let's do nothing and see if anyone notices," or the non-apology, "Sorry if you feel upset." Raye - a class act."Another user (@gem_investor) claimed that this is not the first time Ticketmaster has caused issues,"Refunds and vouchers are standard. The real issue is why this keeps happening with Ticketmaster"Another user (@novasdior) suggested that the entertainment company needs to look into its systems,"ticketmaster needs a full restart. too many errors recently"Keen also offered complementary tickets to any future shows along with a signed vinyl. In a statement to PEOPLE, a Ticketmaster spokesperson said that the company has refunded those affected and provided a gift card.
