Mehdi Hasan has slammed Laura Loomer after she posted a photo with Donald Trump. The far-right podcaster and activist attended the POTUS's rally in Alabama on Friday, October 2.Laura Loomer has often spoken in favor of Donald Trump and his policies over the years. On Friday, she traveled with him on Air Force One for his speech in Mobile, Alabama. This comes after their meeting in the Oval Office last year.On Friday, Loomer shared a picture with the POTUS on X (formerly Twitter), writing in the caption:"Air Force One with 45-47. My favorite President."Journalist Mehdi Hasan slammed the activist, writing:"She was banned from Uber, now she flies on Air Force One. Should be one of the biggest scandals in America. A woman who has hurled vicious racist abuse at Black women and all Muslims. Where is the media? Where is the outrage at Trump? Why the normalization of far-right extremists?"Laura Loomer was banned from Uber and Lyft in 2017 after her anti-Muslim tweets. It came after an Uber driver slammed into some cyclists and pedestrians in New York City, killing eight people. The activist tweeted:"Someone needs to create a non-Islamic form of @uber or @lyft because I never want to support another Islamic immigrant driver."Uber and Lyft announced that they were banning Loomer from their platforms due to a breach of community guidelines. MSNBC News journalist Jake Taylor reported on this on X, writing:"Laura Loomer is expected to travel with President Trump on Air Force One to Alabama this afternoon, per a source familiar."Mehdi Hasan quoted Taylor's post and wrote:"This should get 10,000, or even 100,000 times the coverage + outrage that Abdul El-Sayed campaigning twice with a California streamer has gotten this year. But it won’t. The president has invited an unhinged, anti-Black, anti-Muslim freak who suggested we needed another 9/11 onto Air Force One."Loomer hasn't responded to Hasan's comments at the time of writing. However, she thanked Trump for praising her during his speech in Alabama. She wrote:"Thank you, President Trump @POTUS! According to The New York Times, she laid out the names of some people who were allegedly disloyal to the President. Based on this, Trump fired six National Security Council officials.The national security advisor, Michael Waltz, also attended the meeting and tried to defend his staff, but in vain. The likes of Brian Walsh, Maggie Dougherty, and Thomas Boodry were fired after the meeting.
