Former NBA star Jaden Edward Dhananjay Ivey, commonly known as Jaden Ivey, who previously played for the Chicago Bulls, has been trending online and is in the middle of a controversy following his anti-LGBTQ comments during one of his recent Instagram livestreams. According to Red Media's official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the 24-year-old Jaden Ivey also had a fallout with his family after his controversial comments during his livestream.
While the NBA shooting guard Jaden Ivy was shut down for the season by the Chicago Bulls due to an injury, he was waived on March 30, 2026, citing "conduct detrimental to the team" following his anti-gay and controversial religious comments on his livestream. According to ESPN, not only did Ivey attack the LGBTQ community on his livestream, but he also took a dig at the NBA for promoting Pride Month.
However, as per Fadeaway World, Jaden Ivey's wife, Caitlyn Newton, who shares two sons, Isaiah Edward and Noah James, and a daughter, Shiloh, with the shooting guard, has stopped communicating with him, as she hasn't been returning his text messages. Jaden said in his livestream:
"My wife is in here, and she's not even texting me."
Before playing for the Chicago Bulls, Jaden Ivey, who was a part of the Detroit Pistons, during his livestream, also talked about how he felt betrayed by his family members. He reportedly said that his family thinks he is losing his mind and has become crazy. Jaden said:
"Those who are around me, those who are my family members betraying me because of what I spoke. The truth. Betraying me. Saying that I’m losing my mind. Saying that I’m crazy. Saying that I don’t know the truth."
While reportedly claiming that his family has referred to him as "psycho," Jaden further added:
"These are my own family members who love me. My blood. Those who raised me said that I don’t know the truth. ‘Man, he’s psycho.’ He’s this, he’s that. Those are my own household. All because of the gospel. All because I said the truth."
Jaden Ivey called out Stephen Curry

According to Fadeaway World, it was not only the NBA or the LGBTQ community that Jaden Ivey took a shot at, but in one of his recent livestreams, he also slammed the four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry, who plays for the Golden State Warriors. While Ivey raised questions regarding Curry's religious beliefs, he said:
"That’s why you got Steph Curry, who’s not even surrendered, and y’all think he’s a Christian. Y’all believe he’s a Christian because he wrote Philippians 4:13. Y’all think he’s a Christian. He cursing just like the world."
Along with Stephen Curry, Jaden also called out Michael Jordan and LeBron James, saying:
"He don’t know Jesus. … I pray he’s saved in Jesus name. … All that stuff isn’t gon matter on Judgement Day. All them rings he got. All them rings LeBron got. All them rings Jordan got. All them people in the Hall of Fame who don’t know Jesus Christ."
