As Amanda opened up about the times she partied hard, the Chloe star revealed how she had a gala time at Kilmer's house during a pool party. Amanda Seyfried said:
"I mean, did I go clubbing? Yeah. Did I find myself at Val Kilmer’s house one night at 1am with [Mean Girls co-stars] Daniel Franzese and Jonathan Bennett?"
She went ahead and said:
"Did I find myself there with them in the pool? I was 18 and I had just moved to LA and we had gone to a screening of Reefer Madness. I was at Val Kilmer’s house – I don’t even remember meeting him, but I was at his house.'"
Amanda Seyfried was on the brink of dabbling in drugs

During her interview, as Amanda defended her co-star, Lindsay Lohan, who had a reputation for abusing drugs and became infamous for partying wildly, Seyfried confessed that she feared ending up in a similar situation to Lohan. While talking about how she would never want to gain attention for the wrong reasons, Seyfried said:
"The outsized bashing is ugly. It’s like, a fear of mine. I would not want to be spotlit for being infamous in any way."
During her conversation with British GQ, Amanda Seyfried, who has collaborated with influential filmmakers such as David Lynch, Paul Schrader and David Fincher, also touched upon and talked about the time she came close to getting involved in drugs. Revealing how 'ridiculous' her 20s were, Amanda said:
"My 20s were ridiculous. I found myself at many places."
She continued:
"I also remember there was a time I could have done cocaine for the first time at the Chateau [Marmont], and I didn’t because I was scared."
Seyfried further added:
"And so there was a limit to how much partying I was going to do, because I only wanted to be so drunk that I could [still] get myself home."
