Amanda Seyfried and her husband, Thomas Sadoski, are ending their nine-year marriage.
The two confirmed the news via a joint statement to People, in which they admitted that they had already separated and felt that the decision was right for both of them and their family.
“We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit. We’ve got each other forever—and it’s GOOD.”

Amanda Seyfried, 40, and Thomas Sadoski, 50, share two children: daughter Nina, 9, and son Thomas, 5.
The couple has kept much of their family life private throughout their marriage.
Rumors about a possible split began earlier this month after the Mamma Mia actress appeared at the Toronto International Film Festival without her wedding ring.
Despite the speculation, it seems that they have continued to show signs of having a good relationship.
On Sept. 15, Amanda Seyfried posted a picture on her Instagram Story of Thomas Sadoski holding a lizard, which she captioned “#reptiledad.”
Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski: A glimpse into their romance
Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski first met in 2015 while appearing together in the Off-Broadway play The Way We Get By. They reunited the following year when they worked on the movie The Last Word with actress Shirley MacLaine.

The pair became engaged in September 2016. Six months later, Sadoski revealed that they had secretly eloped.
In a 2017 interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden, the Life in Pieces actor shared:
“Listen, she’s the person that I love, admire, respect most in the world.”
He continued:
“We eloped. We just took off into the country with an officiant and, just the two of us, and we did our thing. It was beautiful. It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other.”
During the conversation, Sadoski also shared that he was excited to build a family with the actress.
“I’m more excited about this than I’ve ever been about anything in my life. And I’m also more terrified about it than anything I’ve ever been in my entire [life.]”

Amanda Seyfried also recently gave a sneak peek into her marriage through an exclusive interview with Vogue, in which she said that her husband "sacrifices a lot for me."
“He also knows that, in this moment, the opportunities I’m being afforded are insane… I do say no a lot.”
The couple was last photographed together in January. The separation follows nearly ten years of marriage for both stars, who have stated that they still have their family in mind as well as each other.
