He was subsequently fined $40,000. According to a report by the NBA, he was recording from a vehicle and made comments about a group of men outside, targeting their sexual orientation. Following the controversy, he posted an apology on X, where he wrote:“What I said was immature, hurtful, and disrespectful, and I’m incredibly sorry. It’s unacceptable for me or anyone to use that language in such a hurtful way, there’s no excuse for it, at all. I was raised better than that!”Meanwhile, during the exclusive interview, Jaden Ivey mentioned that Edwards had once used a derogatory word for someone, although he could not recall what the situation was exactly. Mentioning Edwards, he said:“He called them the F word but like so he was like portraying that that person was gay basically and so I believe the NBA fined him for it right, but he said those things right and they fined him for it and so how is it that he said something detrimental and basically hypocritical judgement because he’s not a Christian.”Jaden Ivey said that Anthony Edwards was only fined and wasn’t “kicked out” of the league. He claimed that this was because Edwards was the best player on the team. Ivey said, on the other hand, he was injured and just spoke the truth.Jaden Ivey on growing up and his comments about the mediaWhen Jaden Ivey introduced himself to the podcast hosts, he said he grew up playing basketball and that his mother was the coach. His father and grandfather were also NFL athletes. He mentioned that all he knew while growing up was basketball. Ivey shared:“So, I grew up, you know, watching all the great basketball players that many watch today.”Host Jaden Heard asked Ivey what his response was to the media coverage of his comments. Jaden Ivey commented that the media held their own standards, as they decided to put out what they felt was needed. He claimed:“They put these wicked things on platforms to make it known who they serve, to make it known who’s their God, who they proclaim. In terms of like LGBTQ, right, I am not against the man or the woman. I am against what is contrary to the word of God. Man is not supposed to lie with a man and a woman is not supposed to lie with a woman.”Jaden Ivey claimed that as a Christian, he was supposed to stand with righteousness and the truth, mainly the truth of the Bible. He said he was born out of a heteronormative relationship. He opined that God is not pleased with what is shown in the media, mainly because of the way they are indoctrinating the children. Also Read: "You serve God.
