The rivalry between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi has fueled debates among soccer fans for years, but their partners, Georgina Rodriguez and Antonela Roccuzzo, are proving that there is no competition in their relationship.

On July 5, Lionel Messi's wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, shared an Instagram Story thanking Georgina Rodriguez for a thoughtful gift package from Rodriguez's fashion and activewear brand.

Cristiano Ronaldo's fiancée established her own brand, Mimoa, selling sports wear, in June, and Roccuzzo showed great support to it through her post.

The package sent to Lionel Messi's wife appeared to include workout clothing, a bag, and what looked like a yoga mat.

To thank the person who had sent the gift thoughtfully, she posted about it on social media tagging Georgina Rodriguez, along with her sweet message:

"Muchas gracias @georginagio. Todo hermoso. Te deseo todo el éxito del mundo."

Translated into English, the message reads:

"Thank you very much. Everything is beautiful. I wish you all the success in the world."

The exchange quickly caught the attention of soccer fans, many of whom have long viewed the Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo rivalry as one of the defining storylines in the sport.

While the two women aren't known to be really close friends, there have been a few instances when they traded compliments, showcasing a supportive connection amid their partners' famed rivalry.

In 2023, Antonela Roccuzzo shared a few snaps of herself following her attendance at a Tiffany & Co. event. In the comments, Georgina Rodriguez left a comment:

"Gorgeous."

Of course, Messi's wife returned the gesture. That September, Ronaldo's partner shared a photo of her in a stunning red dress, taken during her attendance at the Venice Film Festival. Roccuzzo, to everyone's surprise, commented:

"Beautiful."

The warm exchange comes on the heels of Cristiano Ronaldo's last World Cup run, where he played in a total of six tournaments.

Portugal, however, suffered a 1-0 defeat to Spain, making his final World Cup game a heartbreak.

Nevertheless, he managed to make history as he is one of the few to participate in six different World Cups (2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022, and 2026), and he became the first-ever to score in six different World Cups, totaling eleven goals in 27 World Cup matches.

To recall, the two got engaged in August 2025, after nine years and five kids in tow. Speaking with Piers Morgan last November, the sports personality talked about his fiancée and their wedding date.

"I always say that good things happen at the right time. Sometimes you need time to realize you shouldn't make certain mistakes. I didn't want to rush something so important."

He continued:

"I'm going to marry her because I believe it's the right time. Not just because she's the mother of my children, but because she's the person I love most. She's the love of my life."

Cristiano Ronaldo also recounted the proposal, which surprisingly involved their daughters, Alana and Eva.

"As I was giving Georgina the ring, our daughters came in and asked, 'Daddy, are you giving Mommy the ring and asking her to marry you?' That was when I truly realized — yes, it was the right moment."
