Prominent record producer and billionaire pop icon Selena Gomez's husband, Benny Blanco, recently discussed and shed light on his relationship with the Good For You hitmaker during a conversation with El País, a popular Spanish news outlet. According to People, Blanco, 38, revealed he had a serious discussion with Gomez about publicly announcing their relationship.

As cited by People, while speaking with El País, Benny Blanco also talked about his upcoming album Hermoso, which will be in Spanish, and shared how his perspective on fame has transformed. While the high-profile couple tied the knot in September 2025, Benny Blanco and the Spring Breakers star-turned-singer Selena Gomez first met professionally when they were working on one of her songs back in 2015.

According to Elle, Selena confirmed her secret romantic relationship with Blanco in her Instagram post comment section in December 2023. However, the two got engaged by the end of 2024. Benny Blanco, while talking about how they kept their relationship under wraps for quite some time before making it official and public, said:

"We kept our relationship private for a long time, about eight or nine months."

Blanco then mentioned an important question Gomez asked him regarding making their relationship public, and said:

"And she asked me, ‘Are you sure you want to do this? I understand if you want us to just be friends.’” And then I said, ‘You know what? Screw it.’ We’re lucky because we both have friends and family we’ve known since before all this, and we’re surrounded by a good group of people we love."

While talking about how he is still figuring out the culture of social media, Blanco said:

"I don’t like to expose my life. Famous people are under constant scrutiny: if you say one thing, it’s wrong, and if you say another, it’s also wrong."

During his interview with El País, Benny Blanco talked about his brand-new music album and discussed his inspiration behind producing the upcoming album. Blanco said:

"I grew up in an area with a large Latin population, so that music has surrounded me since I was a child. You’d get in the car and Jeanette would be playing; in another car, cumbia would be on… I was always drawn to the drums and how the rhythms interacted with each other."
