Beyoncé reportedly sued over allegedly using unauthorised spoken word sample on the 2022 hit Alien Superstar

Billionaire popstar-turned-actress Beyoncé has recently drawn the attention of her fans and netizens after a lawsuit was reportedly filed against her by Hirose Enterprise, owned by producer Shuji Hirose, in August 2026, for allegedly using an unauthorized spoken-word, or a sample from the song Moonraker, performed by John Holiday in collaboration with Foremost Poets, in her 2022 hit track Alien Superstar, according to the Daily Mail.

While Shuji Hirose and Hirose Enterprise have sued the Freakum Dress singer, Beyoncé, for unofficially using Moonraker's sample in her song, as cited by TMZ, Hirose and his company have also filed lawsuits against multiple other music companies for reported copyright infringement.

According to TMZ, Hirose's lawsuit alleged that Beyoncé, 44, did not officially get a license or authorization to use Moonraker's spoken-word in her song Alien Superstar before its release, but only had authorization for a week after the song's release.

The court documents also claimed that the one-week license Beyoncé and her music company obtained was from John Holiday, who no longer owns the copyright to the song, as he had given it to Hirose and his music company a long time back.

However, according to TMZ, Hirose and his company have reportedly claimed that even after notifying Beyoncé and her team about the copyright infringement, the Dreamgirls actress's music company has not stopped selling the record.

While Beyoncé has been hit with a copyright infringement lawsuit by Hirose Enterprise, the Dangerously In Love hitmaker recently took her fans by surprise when she dropped a remix of the song Morning Dew (Donk) on August 5, 2026, according to Culted.

As per reports, while the song was first recorded back in October 2013, it was officially released on July 4, 2026. While the song was meant to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her album B'day, released in 2006, the brand-new remix version of the track turns out to be even more special as Beyoncé has collaborated with her husband-turned-rap legend Jay-Z after five years. Before this, the power couple collaborated on DJ Khaled's song Sorry Not Sorry in 2021.
