BLACKPINK’s Rosé has set the record straight about her bond with the rest of the K-pop group amid rumors of a fallout.

The songstress, 28, sat down with host Alex Cooper for the latest episode of her Call Her Daddy podcast, where she opened up about her bond with fellow members Jennie, Jisoo, and Lisa, especially after spending the year apart.

“We’re best friends. We are sisters. We’re like family. We’re colleagues….what else could you say? What else is on the table?" Rosé said. “It’s really all of that combined. I do agree that it is a very unique relationship that we have, but over time, more layers have been added on to the type of relationship we have, but even more so, I think it feels more solid."

During her conversation with Alex Cooper, Rosé also addressed the band's hiatus, when most members were travelling separately and focusing on their personal careers.

“As I’ve actually had that one year apart from the girls, which we were very much apart -everyone was so busy flying around the world, like we couldn’t tell who was where – we’ve also created unique experiences outside of BLACKPINK after sharing all of that together and growing together. We all went out and experienced the world individually past that. But to come back with those experiences, there’s nothing better to feel like there’s somebody that understands exactly how you might have felt or what you feel."

She also pointed out that the group now has an understanding that may even feel foreign to their own families:

“It is a unique experience, as everyone has their own…even my actual family doesn’t understand what I feel sometimes…there are so much in my life that BLACKPINK understands," she added.

Rosé made headlines in November last year when she was named the first K-pop artist to land a nomination as a lead artist in the Grammy's Big Four categories for her highly successful collaborative track with Bruno Mars, APT. At the time, she spoke with Billboard about her nominations, which also included record of the year, Song of the Year, and Best Duo Pop/Group performance categories.

“That means a lot to me. I don’t think I ever saw on television somebody that looks like me. Never in a million years would I have thought that this would happen to be nominated for a Grammy.”

Rosé continued,

“Most importantly, the song that is being nominated for the Grammy contains so much of my culture in it. That proves so much to myself. It proved to me that culture is loved. Different cultures are being accepted. Yes, it might sound like a silly drinking game, but I feel like that could be a song that brings so many people joy … It means so much to my younger self who grew up feeling like that would not be a possibility … I’m really, really grateful and a little shook.”

The track peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and also dominated the Billboard Global 200 chart for 12 weeks.
