On August 25, Judge Lewis Liman awarded Blake Lively more than $400,000 in attorneys’ fees and costs following her longstanding legal battle with It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni. The judge awarded the actress $363,245 in attorneys’ fees and $44,206 in costs, the total of which is far less than the $8 million demanded by her.

The Gossip Girl star filed for $8 million after the court determined that Lively was entitled to attorneys’ fees and costs in June this year. But Justin Baldoni and his Wayfarer team rejected her demand and called it ‘inflated.’ They asked the court to reduce the amount of Blake Lively’s request.

“The Wayfarer Parties argue that Lively’s request is so inflated that the Court should deny it “altogether” and that, “[a]t a minimum, the Court should substantially reduce [Lively’s] request,” the ruling said.

In the recent decision, the judge said Lively could only get “reasonable” fees. Judge Liman agreed that her lawyers’ rates were fair for such a complex case, but the number of hours Blake wanted paid for was “unreasonable.”

The judge also said that Blake Lively’s documents were incomplete. Liman said:

“Lively has submitted the declaration of a purported attorney fee expert who has reviewed the billing records […] Lively has not submitted the invoices themselves.”

Justin Baldoni and his wife Emily broke the silence amid the Blake Lively case

Earlier in July, Justin Baldoni and his wife Emily opened up for the first time amid the actor’s legal battle against Blake. They posted a joint video on Instagram talking about how the lawsuit and controversy affected their family.

Justin’s wife said:

“We’ve had to wrestle with so many things and try to understand so many things, like, how could something like this even happen? Let alone disguised as a fight for women.”

They also thanked everyone who supported them amid legal troubles.

Justin also added:

“There’s been so many painful things that have been spoken into existence over the last couple years and that created so much noise, and we didn’t want to add to the noise.”

For those unaware, Blake Lively accused Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer parties of sexual harassment and several other charges in December 2024. They resolved their disagreement outside of court in May this year, just before their trial was supposed to start.
