On September 18, Andrew Kolvet responded after Candace Owens claimed Erika Kirk hosted a ‘secret’ event in Idaho for middle and high schoolers. The political commentator raised doubts about a sudden shift in TPUSA’s working pattern. She questioned why underage students were being forced to learn about politics and why their parents weren’t allowed to attend the alleged ‘secret’ event.The TPUSA spokesman reacted to Candace Owens’ tweet and said there was nothing ‘secret’ about TPUSA’s Club America event, which was started by the late Charlie Kirk. He went on to say that Charlie was proud of his initiative. Andrew Kolvet criticized Candace, questioning how she could claim to know Charlie for seven years if she didn’t have a basic understanding of him. He wrote:“There’s nothing secret about Club America. Charlie started Club America as a major initiative of TPUSA. He talked about it all the time. We talk about it all the time. Charlie was incredibly proud of it. His vision was a Club America chapter in every high school in America. Your lack of basic understanding about it shows you haven't known Charlie or TPUSA for the last 7 years. This was one of his most passionate projects, and yet you act mystified.”He further highlighted that students were free to join TPUSA’s Club America. In the next point, Andrew Kolvet said that parents were allowed to attend the meetings and highlighted how some parents showed up and clicked pictures with Erika Kirk at an Idaho event.“Yes, Club America holds meetings in high schools. They’re high school clubs. Generally speaking, parents aren’t sitting around high schools during school hours. But even today there were many parents present. Some brought their parents and took pictures with Erika.Kolvet further slammed Candace Owens for questioning basic ‘searchable’ facts. He wrote:“These are easily searchable facts, so why act like the only person with super secret knowledge from super secret sources?”Candace Owens claims students were not allowed to opt outThe ex-Daily Wire host, in her following tweets, claimed that the students were forced to join the TPUSA event as a school assembly. She added that students were told they would be marked absent if they missed the event. Candace Owens also claimed that some students texted their parents to express their discontent with being forced to attend Erika Kirk’s speech.In another tweet, Owens said that there is no support for the new version of TPUSA among students after Charlie Kirk’s death.Candace even dubbed TPUSA members Andrew Kolvet and Blake Neff as ‘liars.’
