"I'll cherish this experience always": Ariana Grande fights back tears as Eternal Sunshine tour comes to an end

Ariana Grande became emotional as she addressed the fans during her farewell performance of the Eternal Sunshine tour in the O2 Arena, London on Tuesday.

Sitting on a stool at the B-stage, the thank u, next songstress expressed her appreciation to the 41-show tour journey, thanking the fans for making it an unforgettable tour for her. She also specially acknowledged her 10 performances in London.

“I just want to say thank you so much. This has been such an extraordinary experience. Thank you for 10 beautiful London shows and for 41 incredible Eternal Sunshine tour shows. This has been one of the most beautiful, extraordinary experiences of my life and I just want to express my gratitude without sobbing completely.”

The singer had difficulty containing her emotions when she spoke about how wonderful the tour had been to her.

She thanked the fans who had supported her during the performances, from the outfits, costumes, make-up to the messages that they had sent her.

“But really, thank you from the bottom of my heart, it’s been so special and I’ll cherish this experience always and I have the best fans in the entire world and I always have. And I love your outfits, I love your faces, I love seeing you, I love connecting with you in this way.”

Ariana Grande stated that she had enjoyed meeting with fans throughout the tour and was determined to express her appreciation before ending the tour’s last show.

“Thank you for all of your effort for making this so special. All your messages and your costumes and your wardrobe and makeup is just so beautiful. I have loved every minute of this with you all and I just want to make sure I express how grateful I am. Thank you and I love you so much.”

The Eternal Sunshine tour kicked off in June at Oakland Arena in California with three shows.

Then, she embarked on the tour throughout North America, staging concerts in various cities such as Los Angeles, Austin, Atlanta, New York, Boston, Montreal, and Chicago.

In August, Ariana Grande took the tour to London where she played 10 shows at the O2 Arena. Her last show represented the conclusion of a string of live performances.


Ariana Grande enters public hiatus as she concludes Eternal Sunshine tour

Ariana Grande’s farewell came after months of performances built around her Eternal Sunshine album, which was released in March 2024. The tour gave fans the chance to see the pop star perform songs from the album alongside selections from earlier points in her career.

As she closed out the London run, the we can’t be friends hitmaker told the audience how much she valued the experience and the connection she had shared with fans throughout all 41 shows.

Ariana Grande is now set to step away from the stage following the completion of the tour, as well as her public life, conforming to her Aug. 2 statement, where she announced her indefinite hiatus once she wraps up her tour.

At the time, the singer’s representative stated:

"She looks forward to finishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny. This tour has been a beautiful experience for her. She loves her fans and has loved every minute of this tour so much."

The rep neither elaborated on the reason for the hiatus nor its duration.
