Dolly Parton’s sister, Stella Parton, has weighed in following reports that a performer was taken off a tour because of statements made in relation to the conflict in Gaza.The singer-songwriter shared a post on social media, saying she once again tried to put light on an issue surrounding the performers and their right to freedom of political expression.“I’m here to sound the alarm again today as I’ve been doing since 2016.”She then addressed the reported decision to pull a performer from a tour, objecting to the circumstances.“We are in a dire situation when a performer is pulled from a tour for simply calling out genocide in Gaza.”Stella Parton often uses her social media platform to speak about political and humanitarian issues.In fact, on Sept. 13, the songwriter left pointed comments on her personal social media page.“Imagine a country where the citizens seem to think it’s normal for their President to tell them in front of the whole world to ‘cheat like h**l’ in the upcoming election and no one has said anything about it. In a lengthy statement by its owner and operator, Robert Kraft, the billionaire businessman referred to Macklemore’s statements as being “deeply offensive and hurtful to the Jewish community.”“Based on Macklemore’s recent actions, material shared from the stage during Ed Sheeran’s shows in New Jersey, and a broader history of antisemitic rhetoric and imagery that we believe has been deeply offensive and hurtful to the Jewish community, we determined that his participation in the September 25th and 26th concerts at Gillette Stadium would cross that line.”Kraft went on, saying he agreed with the rapper, but argued that “selective information” causes more division among the people.“I agree with Macklemore.
