During a recent streaming session, Adin Ross discussed the situation surrounding rapper Pooh Shiesty. He even called DJ Akademiks to know how Shiesty was busted for allegedly kidnapping and robbing Gucci Mane. Akademiks said that Gucci Mane had security personnel with him, adding:

“So Gucci, he doesn't roll around with just random bodyguards anymore. He moves with the guy who's an off-duty cop.”

Akademiks even joked that rapping was like a side gig for Pooh Shiesty. Being a “street dude” was his main job. Nevertheless, he said that on the day of the incident, Shiesty brought Mane to the soundproof studio booth. He added:

“If you've ever been in the studio, I know you have, it's soundproof. So, I'm pretty sure whoever is outside don't know that it's getting a little bit rambunctious cuz they actually think it's going to be business going on.”

Ross also called Charleston White to get information about how everything unfolded. The latter said that when Pooh Shiesty was in prison, Gucci Mane made $24 million but didn’t give him any money. For context, Shiesty is signed to Mane’s 1017 Records. When Ross asked why Mane was harmed, White said that it was because he felt betrayed, as Mane did not give any money. White added:

“So they forced him at gunpoint to sign a to release him from a contract.”

He said that the feds had a leg monitor installed on Pooh Shiesty. Even when he was on his way to Mane, his parole officer warned him that he return.

What did DJ Akademiks say about the cop’s intervention when Pooh Shiesty pulled his gun at Gucci Mane?

Akademiks explained that the cop was not present for most of the incident. He said the officer only tried to step in once but stayed back. According to what he described, people inside had blocked the door and pulled out guns, with Pooh Shiesty pointing a weapon at Gucci Mane. Akademiks said when the cop looked inside and saw several weapons, he decided not to get involved and stepped away, because it was not part of his job. He also mentioned:

“So, he never went in the room. So, everything we're hearing is it has to be from the victims, not the cop. The cop wasn't in the room. Now the cop has to report it, but he can't tell what happened in the room. It's only the people who were in the room. Obviously, the cameraman, obviously the other guy.”

Akademiks also addressed the Pooh Shiesty situation in one of his streams. Speaking about business deals, he said:

“This is another thing when you deal with like these gangster rappers. I'm going to be honest with you. I'd be nervous going to any business meeting where eight people got to be in a row. If you got to do a meeting with eight individuals in and around the vicinity, you see my business means is, ‘Oh, let's go get lunch. Let's get on Zoom.’ That's the best one. Let's do this over some coffee. Let's do this over some drinks.”

Akademiks said the moment someone came up with eight people, it was no longer a business meeting. He added that Pooh Shiesty might have a different opinion because he might go to business meetings with eight people.
