NFL player Puka Nacua has reportedly enrolled himself in a rehab, according to an exclusive report by the New York Post. The news comes months after he allegedly bit a woman while being under the influence of alcohol. The woman, Madison Atiabi, also filed a lawsuit against him last month. His attorney, Levi McCathern, mentioned that Nacua is now in a Malibu-based luxury rehab facility. He claimed that the decision about checking into a facility was not due to the lawsuit. It seems like checking into the rehab could protect Puka Nacua from the suspension. According to a report by Pro Football Network, since Nacua voluntarily entered the facility, he is now at stage 1 of the intervention program and is unlikely to face any suspensions or fines.McCathern claimed:“The combination of stories ya’ll have run is certainly a contributing factor. He was in there a substantial period of time before any of these allegations broke with Madison and he’s scheduled to be there for a while longer.”According to McCathern, Puka Nacua is motivated to bring change and improve himself in every aspect. He said he was also proud of Nacua. In an update about his client’s condition, McCathern said:“He’s in great spirits. I think he’s doing absolutely fabulous. I’m just really excited for how he’s going to look next year. For as great as he was, I think he’s going to be even better going forward.”Madison Atiabi had previously alleged that when he was with Puka Nacua and her friends, the NFL player got drunk and made offensive remarks. He also bit her, which left a visible mark on her skin. Levi McCathern claimed that Atiabi and her legal team were trying to dig money out of this minor issue.Puka Nacua’s visit to SamoaLast year, Puka Nacua went for an offseason trip to Samoa, and a video of the trip was posted on the YouTube channel of the Los Angeles Rams. He shared that he felt nervous before visiting the place, especially because it was his first time traveling far from home to another country. He talked about all the planning they did, like choosing hotels, resorts, and making schedules. When they finally landed at the airport, it felt like everything had come together and their trip was really beginning. As his car drove by, he recalled:“As we continue to go on, I'm seeing more and more people and more and the kids playing volleyball or playing rugby right outside their house. That feels like home. Nobody's got shoes on. Everybody's out there barefoot. They're running in the grass.”Speaking about his grandmother, who died of cancer, Puka Nacua said that his relationship with her started when he was young. A lot of his photos from childhood showed him being held by his grandmother. However, he added that his life had changed significantly since he moved to LA. He said that being a footballer is just a part of his personality. He tried to figure out who he was in the new land.
