On October 14, 2026, ADÉLA addressed the controversy after her fans were seen removing Rachel Chinouriri's promotional posters in London. She posted a message on her Instagram story after redownloading both TikTok and Instagram and coming across the video.
The videos showed people pulling down Rachel Chinouriri's materials so they could take pictures next to ADÉLA's posters instead. Those clips had already been circulating for more than a week.
Rachel Chinouriri first spoke about it publicly on October 2 on X. She explained that the posters represented a significant financial investment after years of work trying to secure proper promotion for her music. She also noted how much more difficult that process remains for Black artists working in pop. According to the post shared by ADÉLA Access, the singer wrote the following:
"i have just redownloaded tik tok + ig and came across this way too late but u guys this is so fu*king a**. please don't do this. don't take ppl's posters down. promotion costs money, rachel's posters cost money, they deserve to be up and seen. it's alr hard enough to make sure ur art gets out there & is heard... ESPECIALLY as a black woman.”
ADÉLA called out the behavior and highlighted both the cost of the campaign and the additional barriers a Black woman faces in getting her work seen.
Chinouriri later bought a replacement poster and installed it herself. She shared a short video of the process on her YouTube channel and also posted about buying the new one on X. In her original October 2 post on X, she mentioned that her new release, I Think I Spoke Too Soon, is scheduled for October 16.
ADÉLA continues Red Bottoms Tour following PRIMA release
ADÉLA has spent the past several weeks on her first major headlining run, the Red Bottoms Tour, supporting her debut album PRIMA. The record was released on September 4 through Capitol Records.
It quickly received strong chart positions in multiple markets. According to Billboard, PRIMA debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Tracks including Ain’t in LA and Nicole Kidman accumulated significant streaming numbers in the weeks after the album's release, with both songs reaching the top five on Spotify's Global chart.
ADÉLA recently completed two sold-out performances at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on October 8 and 9. Two additional dates remain on the current leg, both in Mexico City on October 15 and 16. After those shows, she has a European extension already confirmed for January and February 2027, with stops planned in Manchester, London, Paris, and several other cities.
The tour follows the opening slot she held earlier this year on Demi Lovato's It’s Not That Deep Tour. PRIMA marks her first full-length project after the 2025 EP The Provocateur.
