Jimmy Kimmel and Donald Trump have been caught up in an ongoing feud ever since September, when POTUS wanted to remove the talk show host after his monologue on his show. The monologue had targeted the president, like other hosts, as well as the Charlie Kirk shooting incident. Since then, Trump has been out for blood.

A new development in the situation takes us to this Saturday, when Trump was honoring the Kennedy Center honors recipients in the Oval Office. In his speech, he brought up the comedian.

"I’m sure they’ll give me great reviews, right? You know? They’ll say, 'He was horrible, he was terrible. It was a horrible situation. No, I think we’ll do fine. I’ve watched some of the people that host. Jimmy Kimmel was horrible. Some of these people, if I can’t beat out Jimmy Kimmel in terms of talent, then I don’t think I should be president."

Donald Trump vs Jimmy Kimmel

Taking us back to September, after the monologue that Kimmel gave, Trump posted on Truth Social,

“Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT”

Attacking talk show hosts in general, with Kimmel at the helm of it. Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission Brendan Carr threatened to punish the ABC network because of which he was benched; however, that didn't last long, as Kimmel, who started hosting the show in 2003, was back by September 23rd.

This did not sit well with the president, who once again took to his social media platform to post,

"I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back. The White House was told by ABC that his Show was cancelled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is GONE, and his “talent” was never there. Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who’s not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE. He is yet another arm of the DNC and, to the best of my knowledge, that would be a major Illegal Campaign Contribution. I think we’re going to test ABC out on this. Let’s see how we do. Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 Million Dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers! Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad Rating."

While Kimmel joked about how the ban made the show more popular and proceeded to thank Donald Trump,

"None of this would’ve ever happened without the support of loyal viewers like President Trump, who has done so much this year to raise awareness for our show. Thank you, Mr. President, for making me number three in the world."

Since then, the president has continued to post on Truth Social about his disdain for the situation. Jimmy, however, this past week, it was announced that he would receive the President’s Award from the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG) due to his efforts to stand against censorship continuously.

According to the ICG, they “chose to bestow this rare honor on Kimmel in recognition of his strength of character, his resilience, and his unwavering adherence to principle in the face of adversity.”

The national president of the ICG, John Lindley, said,

"“We’re thrilled to present this award to Jimmy Kimmel whose return to the air meant so much to his audience and whose presence at the International Cinematographers Guild Publicists Awards means so much to us. He stood by his staff and crew during his suspension, and we celebrate his commitment to his work and to his team.”

Kimmel is yet to respond but, given previous experience, will probably not stay silent.
