As the U.S. midterm elections draw near, Erika Kirk is urging Americans to exercise their right to vote, warning against sitting out elections because of dissatisfaction with the Republican Party.

In a social media post on Friday, Oct. 30, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk said Americans should not give up on the country's future or assume their votes will have no impact.

"Elections have consequences. There are a lot of people right now trying to convince you that America isn't worth preserving. Some want you to believe this country was rotten from the beginning, others want you to believe it is too far gone to save, and some are simply just sitting this one out."

Erika Kirk also invoked a phrase her late husband frequently used, telling followers:

“But as my husband often said, ‘no black pilling!’”

The Turning Point USA chief went on to argue that voters who stay home because they are disappointed with Republicans will not prevent a government from taking power.

Instead, she said, another group will win and govern using the authority voters leave in its hands.

“If you sit out an election because you are disappointed with Republicans, you don’t get an empty government for two years. Somebody still wins and then they get to govern and they will use the power you handed them to turn this great country into one that is unrecognizable.”

Erika Kirk urges Americans not to “squander” freedom to vote

Erika Kirk ended her message by reminding Americans of their responsibility to participate in elections.

“You inherited the freedom to vote. Don’t squander it.”

The conservative speaker’s widow also accompanied her lengthy post with a throwback clip of Charlie Kirk, in which he and Erika were about to cast their vote remotely.

Erika Kirk had been encouraging her followers to vote as the midterm elections approach. On Wednesday, she also reminded everyone to “utilize this precious gift.”

“You have 7 days left to vote for the country you want to see. For the values you want upheld. For the freedoms you want protected. I pray you will utilize this precious gift, afforded to us by our founding fathers and protected by patriots like my Charlie, to stand up for conservative values this election cycle.”
