Dana White had found himself at the center of a political discussion, after reports surfaced that he was offered the press secretary role at the White House by President Donald Trump. The news drew a quick and blunt reaction from political commentator and digital creator Harry Sisson, twenty-four, who wasted no time sharing his thoughts on Threads.

In a video uploaded to the platform, Sisson didn’t hold back.

“I cannot believe how dumb this country is. Dana White, the head of the UFC, says that he’s flying to Washington, D.C. right now tonight to speak with Donald Trump because he offered him the new White House press secretary role,” shared Sisson.
“They’re like discussing him serving in this position. Now, there’s been some reporting that he rejected the role or is undecided. But according to him, he’s saying he’s flying to D.C. to talk about it tonight,” he added.

Sisson wrapped up the video with a pointed closing remark.

“Like, how do things continue to get dumber by the day? It’s remarkable.”

(These are Sisson’s words alone. The publication is covering his remarks and takes no stance on the political opinions he expressed.)

As per a post shared on Truth Social, President Donald Trump made his pitch to Dana White publicly on Saturday, confirming he had offered the fifty-seven-year-old UFC boss the role of press secretary. Trump described Dana White as “a violent Fighter and Warrior."

The eighty-year-old president had previously staged a cage-fighting event at the White House back in June to mark his birthday, with White front and center for the occasion. The push didn’t stop at the job offer itself. Trump also asked White to bring six UFC fighters along to serve as press aides, writing,

“We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left.”

He then closed out the post with a direct plea, adding,

“Dana, please take the job!”

As per a report shared by CNN, White initially declined, with one aide to the president describing the whole thing as a joke. That being said, White then posted an Instagram story showing an image of himself in the White House briefing room, with the caption:

“On to the next chapter.”

Later that same Saturday, at a news conference following a boxing match in London, White was asked directly about Trump’s Truth Social post. Without confirming whether he would accept the role, White replied,

“I’m flying to Washington DC right now. I’m going to meet with him, we have a meeting on Monday, so I’m sure I’ll have more to talk about after that.”

Trump’s post came with seven images attached, including what appeared to be an AI-generated image of White behind the presidential seal in a press room. Also pictured were the six UFC fighters Trump referenced: Islam Makhachev, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, Daniel Cormier, Amanda Nunes and Kayla Harrison. Both Makhachev and Nurmagomedov are from a Muslim-majority region of Russia. Harrison’s last name was mistakenly rendered as “Harris” in the president’s post.

Sisson didn’t stop at his Threads video as he also took to X, where he laid out what he described as a string of developments tied to Trump within a single day. As per a post shared on the platform, Sisson wrote,

“In the past 24 hours, Donald Trump has: Offered Dana White the Press Secretary role, it’s been revealed it’s likely the wrong Dana White, threatened to jail Democrats who investigate him, made Stephen Miller Chief of Staff, angering people in his party.”

He then wrapped the post with a blunt four-word conclusion, adding,

“He’s falling apart.”

(The points listed above reflect Sisson’s personal reading of recent political events. The publication is not verifying each individual claim nor does it share his characterisation of the president.)

It is worth noting that the press secretary role had already been sitting vacant for three weeks before Trump’s offer to White came about. As per reports, Trump’s previous pick for the position, far-right commentator Katie Zacharia, was forced to resign after it emerged she had been describing herself as an attorney despite having failed the bar exam. Her attempts to dodge questions about the matter ultimately proved unsuccessful, a situation which led to her exit from the role.
