Bill Maher brought Taylor Swift into his commentary on the Republican Party's losses in the midterm elections, using the pop star's dating history to make a joke about Donald Trump's declining support among young male voters.

During Friday's episode of Real Time, the comedian and political commentator referred to the president's standing with male voters.

“[Trump] lost the bros. The Bros, dude. Young white men.

Bill Maher continued:

“Huge swing, like 28 points. Taylor Swift hasn’t lost this many white guys.”

The remark drew a mix of groans and applause from the audience. Taylor Swift has yet to respond to the comment.

Bill Maher responds to Trump’s 1,300-word rant

The latest jab follows another Taylor Swift reference during Bill Maher's Oct. 30 episode, when he discussed his recent dinner with Trump at the White House. He said:

“Eating with Trump is like dating Taylor Swift: It’s a lot of laughs at the time, but later on, they’re tearing you a new a******.”

The joke was a nod to Trump's lengthy 1,300-word social media rant targeting Maher afterward. In his lengthy piece, the POTUS called the comedian a “complete and total loser,” adding:

“He’s got a Low Rated Show on equally Low Rated HBO, which was once, long ago, a Network of Quality and Excitement – But that’s all gone.”

The president went on to call Maher a “coward” and said he:

“is afraid to tell the truth about how well our Country is running.”

Trump continued:

“Also, turn your Laugh Machine off, it’s a joke when they laugh uncontrollably, even when you say nothing funny, and I’m going to have the Republicans not cover you anymore, because they try to talk about you as a guy who is transformative.”

Bill Maher claimed Travis Kelce would “dump” Taylor Swift

Meanwhile, this isn’t Maher’s first time bringing up Taylor Swift’s romantic life in his broadcasts.

In March 2025, he joked about her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, contrasting its longevity with Trump's political relationships. At the time, he said:

“And yet, Taylor Swift has the same boyfriend for over a year.”

In July 2024, Bill Maher also predicted Travis Kelce would end their relationship during an episode of his Club Random podcast. He told internet personality Haliey Welch at the time:

“He’s gonna dump her, though, you know that. With her, it’s like the Gatorade at the Super Bowl, you know you’re gonna get dumped. You just don’t know when.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot on July 3, 2026. It was officiated by Adam Sandler.

The reception, held at Madison Square Garden, was a highly exclusive, star-studded affair and kept under absolute secrecy.

Per The New York Times, the couple enforced a strict no-phone policy for all 1,000 guests and staff, ensuring that no photos leaked directly from the floor.
