On October 2, 2026, Gypsy Rose Blanchard told People that her partner Ken Urker died from an overdose. Urker, also referred to in official statements as Kenan Urker, was found dead on October 1 at a home in Raceland, Louisiana, on his 34th birthday.

As reported by TMZ, which first published news of the death, family sources said Blanchard had sent him a birthday text and received no reply, and that her brother Dylan later found him at the residence.

According to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a call at about 6:15 pm at 107 Double H Drive, Lot 4, in Raceland, and Urker, 34, was already dead when they arrived. The office said the death investigation was continuing. Blanchard told People he died in his bed and that investigators had not told her what substance was involved.

Speaking exclusively to People, Blanchard said:

"I don't know if it was intentional or not. He was not in a good state of mind lately."

She added:

"I'm in disbelief. I can't think. I've screamed until my throat burns."

As reported by Variety, a source close to the family told People that a family member had discovered him unresponsive inside the home. His sister Autumn later went live on TikTok and confirmed the death, saying his last words to her were "I love you."

Officials have not released a cause of death. Blanchard's overdose account is her account, given while the sheriff’s inquiry continues.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard says Ken Urker faced heavy online scrutiny

In her statement to People, Gypsy Rose Blanchard addressed the attention that followed their reunion. She said:

"Ken endured an unimaginable level of public scrutiny and relentless cyberbullying across social media platforms, including TikTok and Reddit. The cruelty directed toward him was something no human being should have to endure."

She continued:

"I believe the tremendous weight of that scrutiny and harassment had a profound impact on him, and I hope his passing serves as a reminder that there is a real person behind every screen, every headline, and every comment."

Gypsy Rose Blanchard also called him an amazing father and said he would remain her soulmate, "a connection that time, distance, and even death can never erase." She asked for privacy for their daughter Aurora and both families. She also said she wants their daughter to know how much her father loved her, not by what people posted about him.

Authorities have not released an official cause of death yet.
