Pete Davidson says the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks has been especially difficult as he reflects on losing his father and now raising a daughter of his own.The comedian’s father, New York City firefighter Scott Davidson, lost his life during the attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001. His father was 33.Now, Pete Davidson is approaching the same age his father was when he died, while also having a child who depends on him. He shared with The New York Post:“I thought, ‘Oh, he was an old guy. He’s 33.’ But now I’m there, and I have a kid, and that would be like my kid not having her dad. So this year is extra tough, but also extra beautiful because I get to spend the day with Scottie. It’ll be very healing and special.”The realization has made this year’s anniversary particularly emotional for Pete Davidson. He said the 25th anniversary has been harder than previous years because he now understands his father’s age and loss from the perspective of a parent.“Honestly, this year is way harder than it’s been in a really long time because I have Scottie, and now I’m the age that my dad was when he died.”His father was among the firefighters who responded to the attacks in New York City on Sept. 11, 2001.
