Internet personality and political journalist Aaron Rupar has once again reacted to viral pictures of Donald Trump’s hands captured by Aaron Schwartz earlier this week during one of the POTUS’ ongoing midterm election campaigns.“Here are pictures taken today of Trump's right and left hands. Both are looking really bad, and he's using makeup on each of them to try to mask it (note how the left one is now looking just as nasty as the right one -- that's new) (Aaron Schwartz/Getty),” Rupar tweeted while sharing two close-up pictures of Trump’s hands. The photographs showed Donald Trump’s reddening hands with bulging veins.Earlier this month, Aaron Rupar shared two similar pictures of the U.S. President’s hands on social media from a campaign rally in Baltimore, Maryland, and captioned them:“Yikes! Trump's hand looks like something you'd see on a cadaver (Win McNamee/Getty).”Before that, similar bruises were seen on the POTUS’ hands with a thick layer of foundation covering them at the rally in Grand Island, Nebraska. The images were captured by Getty photographer Kent Nishimura.Exploring the White House’s past claims about Donald Trump’s handsIn July 2025, then-White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters that Donald Trump was suffering from a condition called chronic venous insufficiency, after speculation regarding bruises on the President’s hands.Leavitt claimed Trump underwent a “comprehensive exam” including vascular testing after experiencing leg swelling. The exam revealed his vein condition. The Press Secretary also claimed that the POTUS’ bruises were consistent with “tissue damage from frequent handshaking” and daily aspirin consumption, which she claimed was “part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.”Meanwhile, The Daily Beast reported that Donald Trump takes 325 mg of aspirin every day to thin out his blood as he allegedly doesn’t want “thick blood.”Additionally, Karoline Leavitt claimed during a press briefing that there was zero evidence of “deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease” and all results from Trump’s medical tests were “within normal limits.”While Trump, 80, continues to claim he is “the healthiest President that has ever lived,” the White House physician Captain Sean Barbabella released a note to reporters claiming that Donald Trump’s vein condition was “benign and common.”“There are no signs of heart failure, renal impairment, or systemic illness. He is in excellent health and exhibits cognitive and physical health,” Barbabella added.Since Trump took office for his second term in January 2025, he has been photographed with bruised hands on multiple occasions, including during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in February 2025 and a White House conference with Bahraini Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in July 2025.Around the same time, Donald Trump appeared with swollen legs at the FIFA Club World Cup Final at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Besides bruises, the U.S. President’s hands often look swollen and discolored, according to media reports.Last month, online speculation about Trump’s health resurfaced when several photos showed apparent use of concealer/foundation on his bruised hands before welcoming Chinese President Xi Jinping for a White House state dinner. As per The Daily Beast, the POTUS wore black gloves the day before when he welcomed Xi at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.Aaron Rupar is a frequent commentator on Trump’s physical anomalies, including bruised hands, swollen legs/ankles/arms, knocked knees, neck rash, slurred speeches, and sleepy public appearances.
