Podcaster Zack Peter has slammed NBC10 Boston's report about the holdout juror in Lindsay Clancy's case. He claimed journalist Ryan Kath shouldn't slander the juror just because his verdict differed. The Lindsay Clancy trial went into a mistrial after the jury failed to reach a unanimous decision. One of the 12 jurors refused to give a not guilty verdict, going against the other jurors. Some of the other jurors have since given interviews and slammed the holdout juror. Amidst this, journalist Ryan Kath released a report on NBC10 Boston on September 11, slamming the holdout juror. While the report hid his identity, it alleged that the juror had previously been charged with domestic violence. Zack Peter slammed NBC10 Boston and Ryan Kath for this report, saying in a video on X (formerly Twitter):"Ryan Kath, of NBC 10, Boston, decided to somehow dig up his information, and now do an investigative piece, and essentially, like, slander this guy's name, drag his name through the mud. And again, how is this not a form of retaliation? This is a private citizen who is doing his civic duties, serving on a jury. Like, this is a whole new level of retaliation, intimidation. Like, in my opinion, this should not be okay, and we should have legal protections to protect jurors that are private citizens."Peter further said that the media decided to "attack" this man only because he came to his own conclusion in the trial. He added that the juror didn't do anything illegal in the Lindsay Clancy case, as "the judge has not taken action against this gentleman." He further said that jurors need legal protection and labeled the report a form of "jury intimidation".Zack Peter labels NBC10 Boston's report about holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy case "embarrassing"The holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy case hasn't done any interviews or revealed any information about himself, unlike some other jurors. However, NBC10 Boston has reported alleged charges against him from 2021. Zack Peter slammed the outlet for their report and said:"And actually, NBC 10 Boston should be embarrassed because this is why people are losing faith in our mainstream media because it's becoming a hack. It's becoming political bias at this point. It's actually embarrassing. And the fact that this dude decided he was going to out this juror in some sort of investigative journalism, you're a joke. This is embarrassing for our media."He said that the outlet is trying to retaliate just because they "didn't like how they [the holdout juror] decided to deliberate." He added that many people in the country have to serve as a juror at some point and hence, it is not the outlet's decision.Ryan Kath's report, meanwhile, alleged that the holdout juror was arrested in 2021 for assaulting his wife. It claims that his nephew called 911, as he witnessed the alleged assault. The same nephew then allegedly applied for a restraining order against the holdout juror last year. The report claims that the juror physically assaulted him as well. Moreover, it claims that the restraining order was allegedly active when the juror was selected for the Lindsay Clancy case.
