Phil Collins shared an update on his health

The Curb Your Enthusiasm star's tribute comes weeks after Phil Collins shared an update about his health. Speaking on BBC's Eras, published on Jan. 26, the music legend spoke about his current condition and the round-the-clock surveillance of his health.

"I have a 24-hour live-in nurse to make sure I take my medication, as I should do. I've had challenges with my knee. Everything that could go wrong with me, did go wrong with me … I can walk, albeit with assistance — crutches or whatever."

Phil Collins has been battling severe health issues for about two decades now, with medical conditions stemming from his spinal injury in 2007.

At the time, the singer dislocated vertebrae in his upper neck during a Genesis reunion tour, causing lasting nerve damage in his hands, which had forced him to stop drumming. He also sustained "drop foot" from the incident.

In 2017, the singer canceled a show due to the condition, announcing on Facebook:

"Phil suffers from 'drop foot' as a result of a back operation, which makes it difficult to walk. He rose in the middle of the night to go to the toilet and slipped in his hotel room, hitting his head in the fall on a chair. He was taken to hospital where he had stitches for a severe gash on his head close to his eye and is recovering well."

In the documentary, Phil Collins: Drummer First, which aired in December 2024, the Against All Odds hitmaker opened up about his health, confessing that being forced to halt his drumming hadn't completely registered with him.

"It's still kind of sinking in a bit. I've spent all my life playing drums. To suddenly not be able to do that is a shock. If I wake up one day and I can hold a pair of drumsticks, then I'll have a crack at it. But I just feel like I've used up my air miles."
