How many children do Margot Robbie & Tom Ackerley have? Family explored as Barbie actress changes her name after almost 10 years of marriage

Margot Robbie has reportedly changed her name after almost a decade of being married to Tom Ackerley. The actress will, however, continue to use her current name professionally.

According to PEOPLE, some new documents from the U.K.’s Companies House listed her name as "Margot Elise Ackerley". These documents were regarding LuckyChap Entertainment, a production company she co-founded with Tom Ackerley in 2014. However, the company's show, Sterling Point, which released on August 5, listed her name as Margot Robbie.

The actress is expected to continue using Robbie in her professional projects. The name change, meanwhile, comes a few months ahead of the couple's 10th wedding anniversary. They tied the knot in 2016.

Tom Ackerley and Margot Robbie met in 2013 on the set of Suite Française, where the former was an assistant director. They founded LuckyChap Productions the following year and got married in December 2016 in a private ceremony. In October 2024, the couple welcomed their son.

The actress had previously spoken about wanting many kids. In an interview with the Daily Telegraph in 2016, she said:

“I want TONS of children. Well, maybe not too many. I grew up in a family of four [kids], so that sounds like a good number. We’ll see what happens; no time soon. I know that once I have kids, they’ll be my priority, so I want to do the family thing later.”

Robbie and Ackerley largely keep their lives private and haven't revealed the name of their son.

Margot Robbie's previous comments about her son with Tom Ackerley and motherhood

The Barbie actress and producer hasn't shared much about her son with the media or online. However, there have been instances where she has spoken about motherhood. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in August 2025, she was asked about her experience as a mother, and she answered:

"It’s funny, you try to explain to someone who has kids, you don’t need to because they get it. And if they don’t, it’s probably just really boring to hear. It’s the best."

During another interview with Access Hollywood in August last year, Margot Robbie's son's voice was heard in the background. The actress told the host:

“I’m so sorry about that ... how loud my baby is."

Colin Farrell, her co-star in the movie A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, which they were promoting, said:

“It’s a great soundtrack, isn’t it?”

Both actors started laughing before the Suicide Squad actress said:

“Literally, every time, I go, ‘That’s my baby’.”

She then said to Farrell:

“You’ve been there while he’s been growing.”

While Margot Robbie previously said that she wasn't ready to have kids at the time, she always reiterated that she eventually wants "tons of kids". In an interview with Porter Magazine in 2018, she explained:

“If I’m looking into my future 30 years from now, I want to see a big Christmas dinner with tons of kids there. But definitely not at the moment. That’s 100 percent certain.”

At the time, she explained that she and Tom Ackerley even had disagreements about raising their puppy, let alone having kids.
