Alexandra Breckenridge has opened up about her Christmas family traditions.The actress, 43, spoke to People Magazine about her new Netflix holiday film, My Secret Santa. During her conversation, she opened up about a tradition that her mom started when she was a child, which she is now continuing with her own kids.Alexandra Breckenridge, also known for starring on Virgin River, has two kids: Jack, 7, and Billie, 9. She told People Magazine:"My mother always used to let me open one gift on Christmas Eve, so I try to carry that over now. Usually, I was very persuasive and I'd end up getting her to let me open all of the presents, so my kids kind of try." She added, "They're doing the same shtick. They're like, 'But two, maybe just two?' During a recent promotional interview shared by Netflix, Alexandra Breckenridge said of the film, which debuted on December 3:“It’s really about shedding the vanity. Usually, in these holiday movies, the lead actress is worried about looking perfect in every snowy frame—the perfect coat, the perfect hair. Here, I’m buried under three hours of prosthetics for half the movie. It’s liberating, and it allowed me to play with a physicality and a vocal range that is usually reserved for male character actors.”During her conversation with People Magazine, the actress admitted that portraying the role of Santa was just the challenge she was waiting for in her career."I've been wanting to do something really outside of my comfort zone for a long time, and this is not something I ever thought I would have the opportunity to do," she told PEOPLE.
