The No Good Deed actress Lisa Kudrow has drawn online attention after she lost to her competitor, Jean Smart, at the 78th Emmy Awards on September 14, 2026. According to the Daily Mail, Kudrow, 63, who was nominated for her role in HBO's The Comeback, lost to Smart in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category at the 2026 Emmy Awards.
Romy and Michele's High School Reunion actress Lisa Kudrow, who has been nominated a total of seventeen times for the Emmy Awards, besides Jean Smart, was also competing with Ayo Edebiri and Elle Fanning in that particular category.
Married to Michael Stern, with whom she shares a son, Lisa Kudrow, who has seen success in both television and film, won her first-ever Emmy back in 1998 for her role in the immensely popular sitcom FRIENDS. While she received six nominations in total for FRIENDS, Kudrow was nominated four times for The Comeback.
According to the Daily Mail, besides her nomination for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category, Lisa Kudrow was also nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, but lost to Katie Dippold, who eventually bagged the Emmy. She is the creator and writer of the horror-comedy series Widow's Bay.
The recipient of the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Kudrow has also won other significant accolades besides the Emmys, which include a Satellite Award, a TV Guide Award, and many more.

As one of the co-creators of the comedy-drama series along with Michael Patrick King, Kudrow mentioned how they tried to be as respectful as possible about the characters and the viewers of the show by making it a three-part story. Kudrow told The Hollywood Reporter:
