Sydney posted a tribute before he left for basic training in April 2020, marking the start of his military career. She wrote:"My little bro leaves for basic training tomorrow. Wishing you luck bud when the going gets tough just remember your sister is tougher than you." He finished his training and formally enlisted in the Air Force by August of that year.Since then, Trent has been sent overseas several times while serving in a munitions squadron. His career reached a major turning point in August 2025 when he was promoted to the rank of staff sergeant. Sydney Sweeney also revealed that when her parents, a criminal defense lawyer and a hospitality worker, went bankrupt, they stayed in a one-bedroom in a Holiday Inn for nine months in 2013.After his promotion to staff sergeant, he took to social media to share his promotion certificate.
