On September 29, 2026, Hudson Williams slammed seven Cornell University fraternity members named in a lawsuit over an alleged sexual assault in October 2024.

The actor posted an Instagram Story on his official account that showed photographs of the seven men and a short message calling for their arrest while criticizing Cornell University.

Hudson Williams wrote the message after news of a civil lawsuit and a reopened criminal investigation circulated widely.

"arrest them. f**k them and f**k cornell too."

The Story displayed images of Matthew Ingalls, Diego Sarabia, Winston Lee, Scott Kretzschmar, Scott Norris, Gillio Lopes, and Jonathan Newell.

Separately, actress Florence Pugh posted about the case on Instagram on September 27, 2026, calling the alleged events a horrific act and urging men to speak out. The civil lawsuit remains pending. Hudson Williams continues work on upcoming projects that include the Crave series Yaga, the Netflix limited series The Altruists, and the films Apparatus and Tyrant.

On the other hand, attorneys representing the named defendants have called the allegations false. No criminal charges have been filed against the seven men as of September 29, 2026.

Cornell University response to the 2024 Chi Phi Fraternity allegations as the case reopens

As reported by NPR, Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten announced on September 28, 2026, that his office would reexamine the case after the civil lawsuit described events differently from Jane Doe's initial 2024 statement to police.

That earlier statement, according to the district attorney, described the drug use and sexual activity as voluntary. Van Houten said a senior prosecutor experienced in sex crimes would prepare the matter for a grand jury with Jane Doe's cooperation.

According to the official Cornell University statement posted on September 28, 2026, the school supports the district attorney's decision. Kyle Kimball wrote:

"Cornell University supports the decision of the Tompkins County District Attorney (DA) to provide an opportunity for the victim’s story in the 2024 Chi Phi fraternity sexual assault case to be heard by a criminal grand jury."

The university added that its own investigation followed federal law and university policy and that claims of only minimal consequences were false.

Cornell University 2024 incident

According to The Cornell Daily Sun, the alleged incident occurred on the night of October 19, 2024, at the Chi Phi fraternity house on Cornell's campus in Ithaca, New York.

Jane Doe, then a 20-year-old student, said she had been drinking at a sorority event and nearby bars before going to the house to visit a friend. Her lawsuit alleges that two fraternity members pressured her to snort a powder they identified as ketamine and also provided alcohol and marijuana. She alleged that sexual activity followed without her consent while she was unable to agree to it.

One member sent a message to a Snapchat group called Chi Phi Actives that referred to "free p****" upstairs. More men then entered the room, the complaint states, and the alleged assaults continued until about 5:45 am. Jane Doe reported the matter to Cornell University Police on November 8, 2024.

As reported by The Cornell Daily Sun, Jane Doe said:

"What happened to me was horrific and deeply disturbing. Almost two years later, I still carry the weight of its impact every day and night."

Cornell suspended the local Chi Phi chapter and the seven students the same day she reported the incident. The university later conducted a Title IX investigation that included multiple hearings. Jane Doe's attorney, Thomas Giuffra, has said two of the seven students were expelled while the other five received suspensions, workshops, or essay requirements.

According to Cornell's September 28, 2026 statement from Vice President for University Relations Kyle Kimball, the hearing panel issued a range of sanctions, including expulsions and suspensions, and no one received an essay as the sole consequence.

The Chi Phi chapter was closed in 2024 and remains barred from campus. Jane Doe left the university after the events. Thomas Giuffra has also said none of the seven men was arrested.
