"I got a lot of eye rolls": Patrick J. Adams reveals what it was like working with 'Suits' co-star Meghan Markle

Patrick J. Adams revisited his time starring opposite Meghan Markle on Suits, offering a glimpse into their behind-the-scenes interactions before her engagement to Prince Harry changed her path.

Recently appearing on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, the 44-year-old actor spoke candidly about his experience working with Meghan Markle prior to her ascension into the role of Duchess of Sussex.

"I got a lot of eye rolls."

Meghan Markle was known for playing the character of Rachel Zane in the popular drama series, the love interest of the character played by Patrick J. Adams, who portrayed Michael Ross.

The actress played this character for seven seasons between 2011 and 2018. She played the role of a paralegal at the Pearson Hardman law firm before becoming a lawyer and relocating to Seattle with Michael Ross to start a legal clinic.

However, Patrick J. Adams, during his recent podcast interview, seems to remember Meghan Markle fondly, saying it was often a sight to see her roll her eyes at him.

"That was a constant with Meghan, her rolling her eyes at me like, 'Oh my god, what are you doing?'"

Meghan Markle's character was written off the series after she quit acting entirely following her engagement to marry Prince Harry.

The two became husband and wife on May 19, 2018, thereby becoming the first American ever to become a member of the royal family in 81 years. As she said at the time:

"It's a new chapter, right? I've ticked this box, and I feel very proud of the work I've done there, and now it's time to work with [Harry] as a team."

In the same conversation, Patrick J. Adams also mentioned being "snubbed" by Meghan Markle when podcast host Amanda Hirsch playfully teased him, stating that she got jam from the duchess accompanied by a hand-written note.

After he reportedly didn't make it to her PR list, Markle nudged Adams online that she was sending him some jam from her As Ever company.

As he couldn't believe his ears, he asked Amanda Hirsch for more information on the product.

"How was the jam? Be real."

However, Hirsch said she had yet to open the package, explaining:

"It's in a box. And her letter to me is in a separate box."

Shortly after, Markle reached out to Adams on Instagram, tagging him and his wife, Troian Bellisario. She promised that the couple would receive the jam soon.

"Jams en route for you @patrickjadams & @sleepinthegardn Hugs to those beautiful babies. Send my love to your mom."

Meanwhile, Patrick J. Adams and Troian Bellisario, who tied the knot in 2016, share three children: Aurora, Elliot, and a third baby they welcomed in January 2026. They live in Los Angeles.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, on the other hand, reside in California and have two kids: Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
