Stella Parton took a jab at President Donald Trump following his visit to Mississippi, suggesting the crowd at the event was smaller than the presidential motorcade.

The singer and Dolly Parton's younger sister shared the remark in a social media post after former President Barack Obama criticized Trump’s White House renovations during a campaign rally in Cleveland, Ohio, on Saturday.

Stella Parton took to X/Twitter and wrote:

“Have you heard, Trumps visit to Mississippi today had more people in his motorcade than in the stands.”

The Danger of a Stranger songstress went on:

“I guess he was still a bit chapped over Obama calling the White House decorations a bit of a trinket castle, so to speak. If you can dish it out then let’s all have a bite!”

Barack Obama mocks Trump’s White House renovations: “Like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory”

Obama made the comments while campaigning for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton and U.S. Senate candidate Sherrod Brown.

During the rally, he criticized Trump for focusing on White House renovation projects rather than lowering prices for Americans.

“Guy’s building a ballroom that’s bigger than the White House. Paved over the Rose Garden, put a helicopter pad on the South Lawn, and there’s gold everywhere.”

Obama then questioned the extensive gold decorations at the White House, adding:

“What’s up with the gold? Everything more gold. He’s got the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory. Just gold everywhere. So he’s clearly not focused on lowering prices for you.”

At one point in his speech, the former president also weighed in on how Trump handles the economy, arguing that the promises he made during his presidential campaign, such as lowering prices, haven’t been kept.

"He made a bunch of promises to get costs under control. I think we should examine: how did these promises work out? Well, first of all, if you thought everything cost too much before… everything is more expensive now."

He continued:

"As a former president, I can tell you sometimes factors beyond the president's control end up foiling the best-laid plans. That is not the case here. This administration's actions are directly responsible for rising costs. The current president chose to make a series of bad decisions. Most importantly, he decided to start an unnecessary war that nobody asked for, and nobody voted for."

Trump calls Obama “grossly incompetent”

Meanwhile, Trump also made unwelcome remarks about Obama.

On his Truth Social page on Saturday, he posted a lengthy comment about the former president, calling him "grossly incompetent" and also bringing up former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

“Obama was a grossly incompetent President! He paid off Iran with $Billions, and gave them a road to a Nuclear Weapon. He said that Crooked Hillary Clinton was going to WIN, he campaigned hard for her, and she lost in all directions and ways. He then campaigned full out for Kamala, and likewise, she lost.”

Trump continued with his tirade:

“Now he’s campaigning for a Muslim Brotherhood Jihadist, who hates Jews and Blacks and AMERICANS and TRUMP, and he is going to lose, also. He’s a Fake Doctor, who runs what is considered to be the WORST CLINIC IN AMERICA.”

The U.S. midterm elections are on Nov. 3, 2026.
