After playing at Sacramento's Discovery Park on October 1, 2026, the guitarist of California-based punk rock band The Offspring, Kevin Wasserman, commonly known as Noodles, took to his band's official X (formerly Twitter) handle on October 21, 2026, and shared an update stating that he is taking a break from performing at live shows due to a serious health issue.

However, Noodles, 63, did not specify what health condition he is currently dealing with, which led him to step away from performing at live shows. An early member of The Offspring, Wasserman has been involved in all of the band's studio albums. Mentioning how his band members have supported him in his difficult decision to take a break from stage shows, Noodles' statement on X read:

"It is with deep sadness that I have to announce that I need to step away from live performances for a while to deal with a sudden and fairly serious health issue."

While mentioning how he will be missing his fans and followers, Noodles shared that he will be back for live shows soon, but did not specify exactly when. Noodles added:

"The rest of the band has my back, is super supportive, and will keep rocking you all in my absence. I hope to be back on stage sooner rather than later. Until then, I will miss all of you with all of my heart."

Noodles concluded by adding:

"Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts. I really appreciate it. -Noodles"
