Zack Peter has reacted to Martha Stewart's recent comments about her controversial Halloween costume. He criticized the television personality for making things "worse for herself" by putting out an explanation.
Martha Stewart faced backlash for her Halloween costume this year. She went out in a dirty sweater, ripped jeans, and a beanie, with a dirty face. She also held a sign that said: “I AM HUNGRY HELP ME!!” She shared the pictures on her Instagram account, which led to major backlash.
People criticized Stewart for appearing to make fun of the homeless and poor people. The TV personality quickly deleted the post and issued an apology. On Tuesday, November 3, she appeared at the CrossCountry Mortgage Sales Rally. She said that Craig Melvin spilled chocolate over her sweater, which led to the entire mishap.
Podcaster Zack Peter reacted to this statement from Martha Stewart in a video on X (formerly Twitter), saying:
"I just find this story so funny... Listen, I think it's f**king hilarious. I'm not, I think it's funny, because she just like keeps making it worse for herself. And like, she's just making herself seem even more and more like out of touch. It's like, 'Oh my god, Martha, just stop talking'. Like you're making it worse. She's trying too hard to make it seem like it's not what it was."
Craig Melvin did spill chocolate on Martha Stewart's sweater and pants during their appearance together on the Today Show on October 30. The outlet shared a video of the incident on Instagram, where Melvin, dressed as Snoop Dogg, also apologized to her. Stewart wore the same sweater as her Halloween costume that drew backlash.
Martha Stewart issued two statements after the controversy around her costume

People online slammed Martha Stewart after she initially uploaded pictures of her Halloween costume on Instagram. Users in the comments accused her of being insensitive towards the struggles of poor and homeless people.
The businesswoman deleted the post and shared a statement to multiple outlets, including Page Six. She said:
“I am distressed that my Halloween costume yesterday, which was intended to bring more awareness to the very serious subject of homelessness, has offended people, which was never my intention.”
“Homelessness continues to remain one of America’s greatest challenges and ongoing crises, something that I care deeply about and I have spent a significant amount of time and effort supporting charities that combat this ongoing social epidemic,” she added.
However, Stewart faced criticism after this statement as well. People continued to slam her costume and questioned the lack of an apology. Hence, she released another statement that stated:
“It’s hard to admit when you’ve really screwed up. My earlier statement didn’t go far enough. I know many people are suffering economically. Wearing a costume like I did was insensitive and not funny. I am very sorry.”
In the aforementioned appearance at the CrossCountry Mortgage Sales Rally, Martha Stewart said that she didn't have time to change her costume. Hence, her only option was to “get dressed up as a bum.”
