Chappell Roan made a bold statement at the 2026 Grammy Awards red carpet in a backless burgundy gown that perfectly complemented her hair, showcasing her elaborate back and daring chest piercings.

On Sunday, Feb. 1, the Casual songstress made jaws drop at the annual affair as she emerged in a deep-red gown and a sheer veil that flows gorgeously down her bare back to the crimson floor.

As she posed, Chappell Roan shed the thin veil, exposing her bare chest with nipple rings. Turning around, the pop star also flaunted her back, which was adorned with a large, faux-lace tattoo in red and dark gray, italicized text that says "Princess" below the art.

According to W magazine, Chappell Roan's merlot-hued gown was a recreation inspired by Thierry Mugler's 1998 couture show, called "Lingerie Revisited." Similar to the throwback dress, the gown, albeit in black, also showcased a nipple-baring look.

As soon as the Picture You star's red-carpet entrance circulated online, social media lit up with various reactions.

"I just hope no one steps on her dress," one fan wrote on X/Twitter.
"I guess clothes is just a suggestion for the Grammys," another commented, expressing dismay.
"The utter stupidity of these poor girls, brainwashed into thinking that looking like sophisticated porn stars will somehow make them more successful," an internet user said.
"The goal is to get attention on the carpet and she absolutely succeeded," one posted.
"Damn, she borrowed my dress again!" a fan quipped.
"Move away from Sydney Sweeney, we now have a winner," an internet user joked.

Chappell Roan encourages healthcare be given to artists at the 2025 Grammys

This year's Grammys, the Femininomenon hitmaker vies for the Best Pop Solo Performance and Record of the Year for her 2025 hit single The Subway.

Recalling, Chappell Roan took home the Best New Artist trophy at the 2025 Grammys. At the time, the pop singer urged the recording industry to provide healthcare to artists during her acceptance speech.

"I told myself that if I ever won a Grammy and got to stand up here before the most powerful people in music, I would demand that labels in the industry profiting millions of dollars off of artists would offer a livable wage and health care, especially to developing artists."

The Pink Pony Club star went on:

"I got signed so young—I got signed as a minor. When I got dropped, I had zero job experience under my belt, and like most people, I had…quite a difficult time finding a job in the pandemic and [could not] afford insurance. It was devastating to feel so committed to my art and feel so betrayed by the system and dehumanized. If my label had prioritized it, I could have been provided care for a company I was giving everything to."

The pop star concluded her powerful message:

"Record labels need to treat their artists as valuable employees with a livable wage and health insurance and protection."
