Television personality-turned-social media influencer, Taylor Frankie Paul, who was recently in the news after her former romantic partner, Dakota Mortensen, reportedly accused her of domestic violence, shared that she is "detaching" from the Mormon Church, as per US Weekly.

The 31-year-old Bachelorette star, who rose to popularity in 2022 following a controversy involving members of the Utah Mormon church, revealed that while she is detaching from the Mormon church, she will continue to respect it and might even visit the church with her family sometimes.

Taylor took to her Instagram on April 5, 2026, and shared a story in which she wrote:

"Born and raised Mormon (LDS) and I’ll always have love and respect towards it. I’ll even continue to go with my family at times … with that being said, it’s time to detach myself from it."

Taylor Frankie Paul went ahead and explained how she is a strong believer in Christ and the divine. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star also discussed her belief that God loves everyone, regardless of where they pray. She wrote:

"I strongly believe in Christ, God, the bible, the divine. I believe we are loved whether we are praying in [a] church building or from a bathroom floor at home. I’ve also experienced grace and love from amazing people that aren’t sure what they believe if at all and that’s okay too."

Taylor ended her post, writing:

"Point being there is more out there to learn. And I’m writing this out as a release."

While Taylor Frankie Paul has a son, Ever, with her former boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, the reality TV star also shares a daughter, Indy, and a son, Ocean, with her former husband, Tate Paul, whom she split from in May 2022 after an eight-year marriage.

According to Us Weekly, as Paul broke the news of her detaching from the Mormon church, she also recently talked about how difficult her life has been over the last month. Taylor took to her Instagram and shared a video with a caption:

"The last 40 days felt like hell on earth. Through every panic attack I prayed for strength as I could feel my body breaking down and out from the distress of it all."

The caption further mentioned:

"And HE sent just that in various ways along with so many undeniable signs saying ‘I am with you’ which I can’t wait to share that part. I’ve prayed since I was young and never strayed away because I believe he wants us to ask for help especially during our lowest points. However, instead of just asking I switched over to thanking him at the end of each day no matter how low I felt."

Taylor Frankie Paul's installment of The Bachelorette was canceled by ABC on March 19, 2026, after a 2023 video surfaced of her and Dakota Mortensen involved in a domestic dispute.
