According to a recent article by The Daily Mail, legendary actress Diane Keaton's daughter Dexter White (also known as Dixie) paid a tribute to her late mother via a social media post on Instagram on Mother's Day.

Cherishing their bond, Dexter posted a carousel of three photographs on Instagram on Sunday with a caption that mentioned that it was Dexter's first Mother's Day without Diane.

'First Mother’s Day without you. I miss you more than words can say. Missing her voice, her hugs, her presence, and everything that made her home. I love you, Mom,' wrote Dexter in the caption.

Dexter also re-shared one of the photographs on her Instagram story with a heartfelt caption that read 'I miss smiling with you. I just miss you, mom...'.

While one of the photographs showed The Annie Hall actress kissing her daughter on the cheek, another one had a younger Dexie and her mother were seen having fun on the beach. In the third picture, Dexie was receiving a lovely hug from her mother on her wedding day.

Diane Keaton adopted her children Dexter and Duke

Despite having heated rumors with actors like Warren Beatty, Woody Allen, Al Pacino and Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton never married. She became a mother in 1996 on adopting her first child named Dexie and again in 2001 when she adopted her son Duke.

"Motherhood has completely changed me," Keaton said in an interview with Film Monthly in 2003 regarding her experience as a mother. It's simply the most humble experience I've ever had."

In 2021, Diane Keaton told Interview that her own mother inspired her to become a mother as she saw how much she sacrificed.

In 2021, Keaton told Interview, "It goes back to my mother because, for me, most everything does. I was the firstborn of her four children. I could see how much she sacrificed. I talked about being Mrs. Highland Park and witnessing her achieve that ultimate glory. It ended when we relocated to Santa Ana. There was no more experimenting. She seemed to prioritize her family over her aspirations."
She was simply the greatest mother, yet I believe that she is the reason I chose not to get married. I was unwilling to relinquish my autonomy. That would be a nice response because, incidentally, I have never been asked to marry anyone. I should've started with that and called it a day.

About Diane Keaton's demise

Diane Keaton reportedly passed away on October 11 last year. Her family previously reported that the cause of her death was pneumonia.

Diane Keaton's family released a statement on her death, "The Keaton family is very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11."

They also provided information about the Hollywood legend's commitments, such as her passion for animals.

"Any donations made in her honor to a nearby food bank or animal shelter would be a lovely and greatly appreciated tribute to her because she adored her animals and was unwavering in her support of the homeless community."

Bacterial pneumonia is a lung infection brought on by bacteria which can occur either independently or following a viral infection. Cough, fever, chest pain, and breathing difficulties are among the symptoms.
