For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced," she remarked. The Trump administration has long accused Ilhan Omar of committing immigration fraud. Last month, during a chat with conservative influencer Benny Johnson, DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin confirmed an investigation against Omar and said that "something’s gonna happen." Later, during an interview with Fox News, Border Czar Tom Homan also confirmed an ongoing investigation while denying sharing its details.President Trump has also often targeted Omar in his speeches. Recently at his Tennessee rally on Saturday, he took another shot at the Minnesota congresswoman. According to video of the rally shared by LiveNOW from FOX on YouTube, while campaigning for Brent Taylor and targeting his Democratic rival, Justin Pearson, Trump said:"His name is Justin Pearson, a communist endorsed by AOC, Ilhan Omar. How about Ilhan Omar?... She comes from Somalia. They don't have a government. They don't have police... All they have is crime and squalor. And she comes into our country, and she says, 'My constitution allows me.' She's talking about our Constitution. What they've done to Minnesota, these people from Somalia, what they've done to Minnesota should never be allowed."Referring to the ongoing investigation into Omar, Trump added, "Let's see what happens," noting that JD Vance and other members of his administration are "looking at it very strongly."House Minority Leader issues statement following raid on Ilhan Omar’s homeHouse minority leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries condemned the search warrant execution on Omar's house, calling it an "egregious raid." Jeffries posted a statement on X, reading:"The Trump administration's raid on Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's home is deeply disturbing and raises serious questions about the continued corrupt weaponization of the federal government against Donald Trump's adversaries."Jeffries added that Trump and "far-right extremists" have "relentlessly" targeted Ilhan Omar with "baseless accusations." He further said:"Now, less than 30 days until the midterm election, his violent mass deportation machine has descended upon the home of a duly elected Member of Congress and her family. The American people deserve transparency, and we will deliver full accountability for the rogue abuse of power from the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice."Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz also reacted to the raid in an X post, accusing Trump of "abusing his power" weeks before the election. Other politicians, including Gavin Newsom, Bernie Sanders, and AOC, also condemned the raid. Also read: Volodymyr Zelensky responds after being asked about Elon Musk’s “Zelensky has gone too far” remark backing Trump’s call for a new Ukrainian president
