Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce liked @nbcsnl’s Instagram post containing the video of Shane Gillis’ recent monologue on Saturday Night Live, which is now being deemed “misogynistic” by social media users.

Gillis said around the 2:38 mark of the 7-minute video:

“I haven’t been to the gym in so long. I didn’t know women just dress like wh*res now. Look, I am sorry, there’s no other way to describe. Have you seen it? I have seen it… Have you seen the shorts? Those neon… They are like artificial bait color… And don’t look. You are not allowed to look. For real, don’t look, because they are filming. I am in the background of like 10 TikToks right now.”

Canadian actor-writer Dan Levy called out Shane Gillis and Travis Kelce liked the monologue. The Schitt’s Creek star earned praise, while Taylor Swift’s husband is now facing backlash. For instance, Threads user @tkrieth shared a screenshot of Travis Kelce liking the @nbcsnl’s post and wrote in a caption:

Several others shared similar reactions, slamming Kelce.

“@tkelce if you don’t make a burner Instagram account where you like your dumb bullsh*t without dragging tayprincess into it… right f**king now and QUICKLY,” an X user wrote.
“Omg Taylor doesn't deserve this mannnnn,” another user commented.
“Well, you have to forgive him… he’s not the sharpest,” an individual added.

Others continued to weigh in.

“That man continues embarrassing her,” one person wrote.
“Ew. I mean, I’m not surprised, but still, ew,” a netizen commented.
“Travis liking that Shane Gillis monologue post was dumb as f**k,” another person added.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift haven’t addressed the controversy.

Exploring what Dan Levy said about Shane Gillis’ SNL monologue amid Travis Kelce drama

Besides joking about the length of women’s gym shorts, Shane Gillis also made fun of gay people, fat people, Joe Rogan, Theo Von, and even mentioned balding “directly into an Adolf Hitler haircut.”

At one point, the Pennsylvania-born stand-up comedian also said:

“I was raised by two older sisters. Yeah, nasty. Women are like more psychological. I was always jealous of guys with older brothers because the worst you got there was like, ‘Come here, queer, yeah.’ I had two big, fat sisters… They both look like me with wigs. And they would say the meanest things.”

After Gillis’ monologue video went viral, Dan Levy shared a short video on Instagram and urged fellow men to denounce Shane’s monologue, which left him “speechless.”

“Women wearing short shorts at the gym does not make them wh*res. It makes the men calling them wh*res misogynists. There’s a difference there. By the way, I’ve seen more men’s n*pples at the gym than I’ve seen women showing their bodies off,” Levy stated.

The Toronto-born Emmy-winning actor continued:

“I’m speechless that something like that can exist on live national television. And to be perfectly honest, more men need to be standing up in opposition to it because it’s complacency that has created the environment in which women are s*xually assaulted and it’s a ‘conversation’ as opposed to a ‘crime.’”

Besides Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift’s longtime friend Cara Delevingne reportedly liked the @nbcsnl’s post.

Meanwhile, Shane Gillis returned to host Saturday Night Live for the third time and was joined by Spanish artist Rosalía as a guest musician.
