Carly Rae Jepsen has revealed the name of her first child, sharing a connection between her baby boy and the hit series Heated Rivalry.

In an exclusive conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, set for release on Sept. 18, the pop star opened up briefly about becoming a mother earlier this year with her husband, Cole M.G.N., whose real name is Cole Marsden Greif-Neill.

Carly Rae Jepsen revealed for the first time that the couple welcomed a son and shared his name: Ilya.

The name has a connection to Heated Rivalry, the series the singer said she loved watching. It premiered in November 2025, and concluded the first season that December.

Ilya is the character played by Connor Storrie in the show.

“It was an incredible show.”

Carly Rae Jepsen explained that she had also been approached about writing a song for the first season. The project ultimately didn’t have enough budget for her involvement.

When discussing her son’s name, the Call Me Maybe songstress acknowledged the connection between Ilya and the character, saying:

“Ilya is the name of my son. Maybe, not maybe because of that show.”

Carly Rae Jepsen to release new album Day and Night

Carly Rae Jepsen and Cole M.G.N. have kept much of their family life private since welcoming their first child in early March 2026.

At the time, the singer took to her Instagram Stories to celebrate the arrival of her baby with a mirror selfie, accompanying the message:

"Last 2 weeks have been the best of my life. Welcome to the world little one."

The couple tied the knot on Oct. 4, 2025.

Meanwhile, Carly Rae Jepsen prepares to enter a new chapter professionally with Day and Night. The upcoming album is scheduled for release Sept. 18.

On her social media page, the singer teased the forthcoming record, revealing the tracklist of the music project. She wrote:

“On our first real date night Cole showed up with a bottle of perfume at my door. A bold gift I thought. It wasn’t perfume for the body, it was perfume for a room? I sprayed it in awkward thanks and was transported to someplace with pine trees, an ocean breeze and citrus maybe? Charming. After that, anytime I sprayed my pillow with it, I would feel a giddy little thrill and think of him. This album has two sides and if I could perfume it in a bottle for you, Day would be like jasmine star or daffodils when you really get your nose in there. And Night would be the ocean breeze, pine and citrus.”

Day and Night also marks the end of singer Carly Rae Jepsen’s two-year drought in her music career. Her last album was The Loveliest Time, released in 2023.
