The Indiana-based Chicago Bulls shooting guard, Jaden Ivey, has found himself in a bit of a pickle after he made controversial comments regarding the LGBTQ community on one of his recent Instagram livestreams, as per the Chicago Tribune. According to ESPN, following his anti-gay comments on his recent Instagram livestream, the 24-year-old Ivey was waived by the Chicago Bulls for conduct detrimental to his team on March 30, 2026.

While this is not Jaden Ivey's first time ranting on a livestream, he has done the same before. Following his injury on March 26, 2026, the Chicago Bulls decided he would not be able to play for the rest of the season, so the team shut him down.

Jaden Ivy, who is married to Caitlyn Ivey, shares a son with her, whom they welcomed in 2023. As per reports, Caitlyn is a former collegiate volleyball player. According to ESPN, on March 30, 2026, Jaden, during his Instagram livestream, took a shot at the NBA for supporting and encouraging Pride Month, reportedly claiming the National Basketball Association celebrates "unrighteousness." During one of his livestreams on Monday, which are mostly quite long, Jaden Ivey said:

"The world proclaims LGBTQ, right? They proclaim Pride Month and the NBA does, too. They show it to the world. They say, 'Come join us for Pride Month to celebrate unrighteousness.' They proclaim it on the billboards. They proclaim it on the streets. Unrighteousness."

On the same day, on Monday, March 30, Jaden Ivey, in another livestream, raised questions regarding why he was waived by the Chicago Bulls and then shifted the topic of discussion to religion. Jaden said:

"[The Bulls] said my conduct is detrimental to the team. Why didn't they just say, 'We don't agree with his stance on LGBTQ'? Why didn't they say that? ... How is it conduct detrimental to the team? What did I do to the team? What did I do to the players?"

Chicago Bulls coach Billy Donovan informed reporters that Jaden Ivey did not agree on a contract extension with the Detroit Pistons

According to ESPN, Billy Donovan, who has been the head coach of the Chicago Bulls since 2020, informed reporters that the shooting guard, Jaden Ivey, failed to secure a contract extension with the Detroit Pistons last summer. Jaden became a part of the Pistons in 2022. However, Donovan, while referring to Jaden's recent injury for which he was shut down for this season, said:

"There's a certain level of expectations and standards that are here. Everybody comes with their own personal experiences, right? But we have to all be professional, there has to be a high level of respect for one another, and we've got to help each other and be accountable to those standards."
