Nicole Polizzi, known to fans as Snooki, revealed she has been diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer, prompting renewed interest in her longtime marriage to Jionni LaValle.

The Jersey Shore alum tied the knot with LaValle on November 29, 2014, in a lavish, Great Gatsby-themed ceremony at St. Rose of Lima Church in New Jersey. At the time, Snooki took to her Twitter (hereinafter referred to as X) to share her special day with her followers, writing:

The couple had been engaged since 2012 before they said "I do." Snooki and LaValle also share three children: sons Lorenzo Dominic (born 2012) and Angelo James (born 2019), and daughter Giovanna Marie (born 2014).

In 2024, the pair celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary.

On Friday, Feb. 20, Snooki took to her TikTok page to reveal she had just gotten the result of her recent cone biopsy. The reality star said with a sigh:

"It came back stage 1 cervical cancer called adenocarcinoma. Obviously not the news I've been hoping for, but also not the worst news just because they caught it so early. Thank freaking God!"

Snooki urges women to get pap smears: "Get your appointments done, b***hes!"

Snooki then encouraged women to get pap smears, or a vital screening process that involves collecting cells from the cervix. The celebrity continued:

"I'm 38 years old and I've been struggling with abnormal pap smears for three or four years now, and now look at me. Instead of putting it off because I didn't want to go, because I was hurt and scared, I just went and did it. And it was there, cancer is in there. But it's stage 1 and it's curable."

Snooki went on:

"So get your appointments done, b***hes! I'm telling you! Once you go to stage 2, then you have to do chemo... nobody wants to do that! It's scary. So get your appointments done."

In the video, the Jersey Shore star shared with her fans her next move, which is transferring to an oncologist to undergo a PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scan, to check if the cancer has spread. She added that a hysterectomy is up next.

"Obviously, I think the smart choice here is the hysterectomy. I'll still keep my ovaries, which is a good sign. But yeah, gotta get the cervix and uterus out. It all depends on the PET scan. So 2026 is not panning out how I wanted it to. But also, it could be worse."

Snooki also disclosed her health scare last January after her colposcopy and biopsy confirmed that there were cancerous cells in her cervix. In a separate TikTok video, she expressed her fears about her situation, saying:

"I would love for just the community of mamas who have gotten this done and is dealing with this to just comment below. So we have a community of us who are scared and dealing with this to be there for each other, because being a woman is not easy, and this is definitely a scary thing. And I know I'm going to be fine. It's just—it's scary."
