Jimmy Fallon coins the term "Uber Trump" after POTUS reportedly picks Xi Jinping at the airport, calls him "perfect Uber driver"

Jimmy Fallon has reacted to Donald Trump picking Xi Jinping up from the airport for his US visit. He coined the term "Uber Trump", making a mock advertisement for the US President.

Chinese President Xi Jinping landed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland with his wife, Peng Liyuan, on Wednesday, September 23. This is his first visit to Washington since 2015. Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, went to the airport to welcome Jinping.

As per the BBC, the event featured a 100-foot red carpet and a military flyover. Moreover, as the two Presidents posed for photos on the red carpet, the Army Air Forces Band played the US national anthem with two B-1s flying above them.

Jimmy Fallon spoke about this on the latest episode of his show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He said:

"Earlier today, Xi Jinping arrived in Washington, and in a break from tradition, Trump actually picked him up from the airport. That's true. Yeah, Trump did an airport pickup. I might explain this with an ad."

He then displayed a short video ad, which started with the audio:

"When do you need an airport ride? Forget Uber X and Uber Black. Just order Uber Trump. You might be wondering, isn't the President busy with more important things? Not even a little bit. In fact, he's the perfect Uber driver."

The ad then highlighted some benefits of the POTUS being an Uber driver and some of his clips. The audio said:

"He's got an electric car... He speaks multiple languages... And he knows exactly how to get you to your destination... All you have to do is cover the price of gas... Uber Trump."

The ad also showed a clip of the POTUS with his eyes closed and stated that he is sleeping "if you're not in the mood to talk".

Xi Jinping's visit to the US could potentially bring AI to the forefront amid Donald Trump's recent claims: Reports

According to The Guardian, Xi Jinping is set to visit the US for three days. Notably, Donald Trump visited China in May this year, and he is expected to reciprocate with a similar welcome, with major events planned.

Amidst this, the two Presidents will also speak on various topics such as US-China geopolitics, trade, the US-Israel conflict with Iran, and more. The outlet claims that a major topic of discussion could be AI (Artificial Intelligence).

In recent months, some executives who worked at AI companies have raised concerns over the technology. An Anthropic executive claimed that he resigned from the company and alleged that AI could end humanity in the next decade.

Trump responded to these claims last week and wrote on Truth Social:

“There is a SICK conspiracy going on against AI and Data Centers, and the only one that is happy about it is China. WHOEVER WINS AI, WINS! We are leading China and all others, and will continue to do so."

However, the outlet reported that Xi Jinping's US visit will revolve mostly around ceremonial events instead of major geopolitical breakthroughs.
