Recently, David Beckham's son, Brooklyn Beckham, gave an Instagram statement. In the instagram story, he accused his parents of years of emotional abuse and media manipulation. During his first public appearance on January 20, 2026, former England and Real Madrid star David Beckham was asked directly by a journalist if he was disappointed that the family business was being aired in public.

As of now, David Beckham has not added anything further. He has not issued a statement, responded on social media, or directly addressed Brooklyn Beckham’s allegations.

The Inter Miami co-owner attended the Davos summit and took part in official sessions and podcast recordings under the forum's theme, "A Spirit of Dialogue." When asked questions, the former England captain avoided addressing anything related to his family while maintaining a calm appearance. During his public appearance at the Davos summit, he avoided questions about the family and limited his response to a polite greeting, without engaging on the issue:

"Hey, how are you? Good afternoon".

Brooklyn Beckham's allegations spark widespread attention

In his lengthy Instagram post, Brooklyn Beckham explained that he had been quiet for so long in order to protect his family's privacy, but he had reached a point where he could no longer remain silent.

According to Brooklyn, the constant media reports, which he claims were orchestrated by his parents and their team, left him with no choice but to speak out. He said the coverage spread "lies" and misinformation being spread about his marriage and personal life.

Brooklyn wrote:

"I do not want to reconcile with my family. I'm not being controlled, I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."

He added that he had spent much of his life letting others control the narrative about him.

He continued by blaming his parents, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, for putting the Beckham brand first and not true family ties. Brooklyn claimed that public image and commercial endorsements came first, even before emotional support, as the "love" within the family was measured by how visible it was.

Claims surrounding the wedding and long-standing tensions

Brooklyn Beckham also spoke about his wedding in 2022 to Nicola Peltz Beckham in Palm Beach, where everything changed for the actor and his relationship with his parents. Brooklyn claims his mother, Victoria, pulled back from designing his wife's wedding dress just before the big event, leaving the bride scrambling to find an alternative at the last moment.

He also claimed that instead of having the first dance as planned between him and Nicola, it was interrupted by his mother:

"In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage, where in the schedule was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me instead. She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone."

He continued:

"I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life."

Brooklyn also stated in his long post that weeks before his wedding, his parents requested that he relinquish the rights to his last name. He believed this would affect him, his wife, and their offspring. His failure to comply with their wishes has led to him being treated differently. He wrote:

"Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children. They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since."

He added:

"During the wedding planning, my mum went so far as to call me "evil" because Nicola and I chose to include my Nanny Sandra, and Nicola's Naunni at our table, because they both didn't have their husbands. Both of our parents had their own tables equally adjacent to ours."

He also said that after the marriage, he started to be included less and less in their gatherings. Brooklyn Beckham claims that they traveled all the way to England for David’s 50th birthday party celebration but were rejected for a week, "unless it was at his big birthday party with a hundred guests and cameras at every corner." He added that they were only welcome if Nicola was not there, which he described as a "slap in the face."

As of now, neither David nor Victoria Beckham has commented on this.
