Tom Hardy apparently made quite the impression on Kat Dennings, and not just because of his acting. The forty-year-old actress took to social media on Tuesday to reflect on what she described as one of the more unusual audition experiences of her career. Dennings, who is best known for 2 Broke Girls, had been tapped for a read opposite Hardy for George Miller's Mad Max: Fury Road. The read was conducted to check the acting chemistry between the stars.Hardy, forty-eight years old, ultimately landed the role of Max Rockatansky for the Oscar-winning film.The audition was, by Dennings' own account, a long and strange day. She described the dialogue as "kind of vague," and things escalated from there when an acting coach encouraged both actors to ditch the lines entirely and just make noises."The dialogue was a couple of pages and kind of vague," she shared."And basically what happened was an acting class, if it was on the worst day of your life," she added.Dennings admitted that she was "dying" throughout, but noted that Hardy took to the unconventional exercise with real ease, adding that"he was able to be extremely free and come up with very creative ways of doing these lines."The good part of the day came after the audition ended and Tom Hardy offered to drive her home. Hardy, upon finding this out, didn't hesitate."This was before I had a car," she said."Tom Hardy heard that I didn't have a car. And he said, 'Oh I'll just take you home,'" she added.Dennings described Hardy as "so lovely" on the drive over. Once they arrived, he came inside and got introduced to her mother, a situation which left Dennings reflecting on just how unlikely the whole day had been."He came inside and he met my mom and he was like, 'Oh, what a nice house,'" she continued."And I was like, 'Alright, Tom, this was a very special day. When she eventually wandered back out, Hardy was nowhere near the door."Few hours later, I go back into the main house and Tom Hardy is still there," she said."Having tea with my mother, and just chatting it up. So, I can't say enough about Tom Hardy. I will be a fan of his for life. I think he's a wonderful person. While co-stars like Venom's Michelle Williams have described him as a "puppy dog," as per a report shared by the Independent, Hardy's most notorious on-set clash was the one that developed between him and Mad Max: Fury Road co-star Charlize Theron.The Long Shot actress admitted she "felt threatened" by Hardy and grew increasingly frustrated when he repeatedly delayed filming by arriving late.
