Rapper Meek Mill has responded to Charlamagne tha God's comments on his career trajectory, suggesting the artist has struggled to fully recover from his widely publicized feud with Drake. Charlamagne tha God spoke about it on his podcast, Brilliant Idiots, along with Andrew Schulz. Meek Mill took to IG to write:

“Keep me out this weak a*s sh*t.”

Charlamagne and Schulz discussed Meek Mill's career after his 2015 beef with Drake in their podcast, Brilliant Idiots that went viral online.

Meek's social media behavior at the time was the main topic of discussion, rather than the diss tracks themselves. Drake's lyric from the song, Back to Back in 2015, "trigger fingers turn to Twitter fingers", became a defining moment, according to the conversation, because it confirmed an already-existing impression of Meek's online behavior.

The incident was further explained by Charlamagne and Schulz as a perfect example of how social media can impact an artist's image over time. Charlamagne added that users would comment "Twitter fingers" almost every time Meek uploads something online.

In retrospect, Charlamagne pointed out that removing social media and concentrating only on music releases would have helped change the story. Rather, he contended that ongoing Twitter activity continued to shift public focus from Meek's music to online conversation.

While highlighting that the criticism was focused on brand management rather than Meek's total influence, Charlamagne also recognized Meek's services outside of music, such as his involvement in criminal justice reform initiatives and community service in Philadelphia.

Meek Mill responds to the claims

Meek Mill took to Instagram and released a lengthy statement to address the claims about his career trajectory. He wrote:

"So I wanna make this a "main post" to highlight the real "propaganda that's taking place in the hip hop community."

As he urged followers to look into what he called attempts to "downgrade artist brands." Meek Mill went on to list multiple achievements from his career following the diss with Drake.

He referenced several platinum and gold records that he dropped, along with collaborations with artists like Jay-Z, Cardi B, Rick Ross, and Chris Brown. Mill also added how well his albums Championships and Expensive Pain did.

He added that his brand is still active and successful, citing his business meetings, independent endeavors, and support of up-and-coming musicians.

Meek Mill pointed out the long-standing beef between Charlamagne and Drake, saying:

He actually switched up on Drake because he helped power the meek was done narritive was done .. now he's using the same against drake .... im good with drake and jayz as far as I know..."

Meek added that the relationship between him and Drake is good since they squashed their beef in September 2018, with Drake bringing Meek on stage in Boston, and have since collaborated on the song, Going Bad, which is now being considered for Diamond status.

Responding directly to the criticism, Meek added:

“Keep me out this weak ass sh*t.”

The rapper described the negative narrative about his career as "propaganda" in the hip-hop community. He also mentioned feeling "blackballed."

As the debate about Meek Mill's career continues, Meek's achievements and contributions speak for themselves.
